This morning when I went into dd's room when she woke up her wrap was looking more like a cape, and it was all twisted around her neck! She was happy and fine but it freaked me out. Is it time to get rid of the wrap? And how do I do it?

She's 4 months old today.

We got rid of DD's wrap at about 6 months, we started by leaving one arm out for all her day sleeps then when she was used to that we left one arm out for both day and night sleeps then left both arms out ect. We also tried turning the arms of her long sleeve sleeping bag inside out which worked well too.

The same thing happened to me about the same time. They are certainly clever at getting out.

I started by wrapping DS with his hands up, like this - http://www.karitane.com.au/families/pdf/WRAPPING%20YOUR%20BABY.pdf So he still felt wrapped but started to get used to his hands being around his face. We did this for about two weeks. Then I tried a sleeping bag for day sleeps, this only took two days, then we did the night.

It's been two weeks now. The only thing I've noticed is that I am having to resettle him during day sleeps as he has found his feet and when he stirs plays with them.

Hope this helps. Good luck! :)

My DS is around the same age as yours, and I ditched his wrap for good a few weeks ago. He kept escaping from it, and then it would end up too close to his face for my liking.

I actually just transferred him straight into a grobag, and he slept really well without being wrapped up. I think with some babies you might need to gradually introduce alternative bedding, but DS didn't really mind either way so the transition was very easy :).
