Does anyone else child/ren do this too?

Recently my 16 week old son has started going down for his nap then half way into his nap he just screams. And not like a whinge then a cry, he does a LOUD scream for about 10 seconds then goes right back to sleep.

It really scares me i always go running to his bed room but when i get there he is sound asleep again.

I thought it might be nightmares but im not sure. Does anyone else child/ren do or have donw this? and do you know why?

It's weird isn't it. Don't remember when our DS did this, we are at 4.5 months now and it only happens occasionally. Maybe it's a dream, who knows. It does scare you the first few times. He'll be fine!!

My 8 month old DD does the exact same thing. She'll be sound asleep and will all of a sudden let out a massive scream, most of the time she just goes back to sleep but sometimes she continues to cry until I pick her up and give her a cuddle. I'm not sure why she does it, I was thinking it may be nightmares but who knows. :)

My 13 month old has been doing it for ages, it has settled down a lot now & she hardly does it any more.

yep my DS does this sometimes too, sometimes he will just scream then sob then go back to sleep all in under a minuet lol other times like today he will do it, open his eyes and cry with big tears and a frown and then i pick him up and pat him and then he will be back asleep, its weird hey

D'S has also whinge, cry, then goes right back to sleep.
He is now 7months and it started at a few weeks old.
We have learn-et to listen before running now.

:yes: I sometimes think it might be a passing windy pain or something? She just goes right back into a deep sleep...
