"The Marriage Ref": A comic, reality series where celebrities and a relationship referee help squabbling couples make peace. Created by Jerry Seinfeld, this is relationship advice... with a comic twist.
"The Marriage Ref" casting team is searching the country for outgoing and opinionated couples in long-term relationships, willing to appear on national television, who have a long standing argument or issue that must be resolved.
No problem is too small! But you already knew that!
*Is there an object, a person, or a habit (e.g. computer, pet, the remote control) that is a third wheel in your relationship?
* Does your partner have an annoying habit or item that causes debate?
If this sounds like you or someone you know, please contact the Casting Team IMMEDIATELY at:
marriagerefcasting@sstar.com.auor call02. 9202 8921
Please include your contact info, photos, and a paragraph about why you are the perfect couple for this show. Be sure to include a brief explanation about your arguments and tell us why you are RIGHT and your partner is WRONG!

That's what I was thinking. Sounds like real resolution takes a back seat to hype and making a fool of the couples. No thanks, I'd rather remove my own eyes with hot pokers

I agree with the others, it sounds like it would be fun to watch, don't think I would like to be part of the cast though.

Mind you there is some stuff that we argue about constantly and seem to never get a resolution...

Could be an easy way to get a free trip to Sydney :)

Not a chance. What will `reality' TV stoop to next?

I wouldn't be a part of it, and I wouldn't watch it. Watching other people be exploited and made fun of, particularly using personal and potentially hurtful aspects of their lives as subject matter, is not something I find the least bit entertaining.

Hi All,
Just wanted to clarify a bit about the show.
We are looking at common issues of a light hearted manner.
- My wife doesnt need so much make up
- My husband is obsessed with fishing
- The dog gets more space on the couch than me.
- My hubby cannot let go of the TV remote.
The couples are filmed in their homes (for one day) and are given the opportunity to share their predicament and hope to get third party proof that they are RIGHT.
The programme is respectful of deeper issues and is by no means an attempt to 'poke fun' at the couples.
Thank you very much for your feedback and we will be mindful to present clearer briefs in the future. If anyone is interested in more information please dont hesitate to email.
Regards,
Joanna

So it's a rip-off of `Things I Hate About You', which is a British show that looks at the three most annoying things that couples find about each other, and then three judges have to decide which one is the MOST annoying and then one person loses and one person wins?
