Hi,

I'm an Ex-Wagga resident (moved to Canberra 4 years ago) and DH and I have bought a house there and are moving back Feb next year. I agree that there needs to be a seperate Riverina/Wagga Wagga section.

I will try and help you with as much info as I can...

Childcare Centre - There are quite a few ABC Childcare Centres in Wagga but I am not sure how they fare quality wise. I am trying to get my son into Possums Playground. I'm pretty sure most of the non-ABC Centres are pretty good, if you go to the yellowpages online you will be able to search for Childcare Centres in Wagga.

Community Groups/Playgroups - You could probably try calling Playgroups NSW and googling it.

Swimming Lessons - Wagga has a great swimming facilty 'The Oasis'. I am getting my son into swimming lessons there. The link for the centre is below.

Doctors - When I lived in Wagga I did not have a child so I am not aware of a 'family friendly' doctor but I use to go to a female Doctor at the Kincaid Street Medical Centre (it is one of the newer medical centres) and found them to be great.

Pound - Wagga has a pound and you can access their details through the Wagga City Council website below.

Other Info - If you are renting or buying a house try and stay away from Ashmont and Tolland.
Also there is a New Residents Incentive in Wagga and I will post the link below.

Below are some useful links, let me know if I can help with anything else.

I used to live between Wagga and Albury and travelled to Wagga regularly.

My family doctor was there. She was from Peter Street Medical Centre, Dr Ruth Nesakumar, fantastic with kids.

Not sure of the other things you asked, but Wagga is a fairly large town with many facilities so you shouldn't have any problems finding things you need.

Good luck with the move.

Hi! I've got a great group of mums I catch up with, the kids are all ages from brand new borns to older kids... Let me know if you'd like more info (PM me?!) and I'll pass it on. :) I've been in Wagga nearly 14 years and I love it here...great place for kids! :)

The Newcomers Guide at the Visitor Information Centre should have heaps of info in it for you too...just ask them to send you a copy.

Good luck with the move...

Hey ladies

As per request there is now a Riverina section added to the forum which should encompass areas such as Wagga, Deniliquin, Griffith etc.

It can be found HERE. (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=569)

Thank you for your patience. :)
