Just wondering... has anybody here actually used a diary of events with fob/mob when it has come to court? and do you only write down the 'bad' events.. or everything?
I've kept a diary since I was pregnant with DD and spent months chasing after him to work out what would happen once she was born.
I write down everything, good and bad. If things are going well I won't go into too much detail, but I note down conversations, text messages, and as much detail as I can when something "bad" happens.

i always thought about keeping a diary - wish i had. i havnt needed to go to court as yet but im pretty sure you can use it.
ive also been told if you get counselling tell them EVERYTHING, as they will document it and that can be used as evidence... again not to sure how true that is!

I work in family law and while keeping a diary is useful, it doesn't have much credibility becuase you know you could've just made everything up! But it does help when it comes to doing affidavits and stuff if you have exact dates, instead of writing "I think it was some time in January or February", if you have exact dates, then it looks a bit more reliable.
Also, if you can use a communication book, do it. This is where both parents write about the kids and you can definitely use that, or if you send emails back and forth they can be used too.
As for the counselling, counselling is meant to be confidential and the counsellor is not supposed to release information to anyone, only if subpoenaed, which the court will only allow in very limited circumstances. What the previous poster may be referring to is if you have to go to a counsellor or psychologist for them to write a family report, then this is not confidential and is for use in the court proceedings, definitely tell them everything and be very honest as they often quote you in their report and comment on things like your body language, tone etc.
It's certainly not going to do any harm. I'd do it for sure  - just incase!

Thanks everyone! I've been keeping a diary but yes, I wondered how it could be credible because for all I know my ex is also writing one but writing it a lot differently then I am.
