View Full Version : Work Experience as a Midwife
Hello :)
Would it be possible to do year 10 work experience as a midwife? Or are there legal and OHandS reasons?
Thank you

I doubt it.
I think it would breech insurance and patient confidentiality.
Hi i dont know which state u are located in but i do know that the mercy hospital for women in melbourne used to do it, im not sure if they still do. I enquired about it when i was doing work experiance in 2004 but they only take a certain amount of people and have set dates through out the year and they did not corrospond with my school set dates. It runs for a week.
Good luck!

Not sure about as a MW but I did yr 10 experience as a nurse for 2 weeks which was great :) I would ask your local birthing centre or major woman's hospital or, you could find an independent MW and ask her :)

Not too sure if you would be able to do this as work experience for school. You may have to be over 18 to be considered. You could always ask your school careers advisor and he/she may be able to check for you. Congratulations on your "maybe" decision to join the ranks of special midwives that work every day to protect and nourish women's issues.

You may be able too, but to be in with a chance I assume you would need a current police check, working with children card and vaccinations up to date like all the other staff there.
