nope, I would not have believed it, either...

Apparently, the company that we order our books for next year through closed the list for our school in October!

Have spent all day negotiating how they will be even willing to sell me the books, although they cannot guarantee delivery by the start of school.

Thing is, these places have a monopoly on some of the things on the list. In my day, the local book store had all the requirements.

I'm not new at this, either...it's just getting earlier every year!

our school uses wooldridges for their book/stationary lists, we have the option of ordering through the school (which I havent done and its past cut off anyway) or we can go elsewhere, or order direct with the store, or go there ourselves, though the books can really only be bought at the stated store anyway.

I remember when I was in school, two weeks before school started, the school would open up and have all what you needed and on sale in their undercover area for the week.

anyway.. do you have a wooldridges store near by? (or is that who you use)

I am in Qld and the school uses Officemax. I have managed to let them agree for me to put in an order, but it has to be delivered in person. Luckily I have a friend who is on holidays this week and has offered to take it in for me.

It's crazy isn't it  I got caught out last year too and managed to convince the wooldridges people that my order had been lost :o

Have you tried Campion online? You can order most books online.

That is so strange. You are not on the Sunny Coast are you? I haven't handed in mine either but there is a store here you can go to.
