Hi everyone,

just wanted to know how grumpy your little ones are or were whilst teething and to what extent were they grumpy???

I ask cause my bubs has been so grumpy I know it's his teeth but I didnt think it could get this BAD... :banghead:

Just wondering did you have sleepless nights or days or just plain grumpiness all the time>>>

I hope the teething thing doesn't last too long for you, then, Di !

My kids have been different - one just had a sour expression for months, some just complained a bit at night and teething gel did the trick, and this youngest one wants to be picked up on his off days.

I save the teething gel 'til just before bedtime to make sure the effect lasts as long as possible and I keep plugging the dummy in (which may or may not help - isn't it a pity baby can't tell you what they reckon ?).

The other thing I noticed, particularly in boys is that they have a funny smelling nappy, and often a rash, at teething time. The rash would make them grumpy in itself.

Hope that helps - good luck and happy sleeping !

PS - My Frank is exactly a month older than your littlie so he's got the same blues !

My older 2 weren't too grizzly when they were teething.
But my baby screams - it reminds me of when he was a newborn.

that springs to mind too

or..

"grandma bonding time"

but yes we have a few sleepless nights. DD slept through past few nights but then last nights he wouldnt. Find out this morning that her tooth is out a bit more so maybe that was it. It takes so long for it to come fully out of the gums :banghead:

You gals make me laugh ... and ditto to all your responses.. lol

Poor little Cody has had this now for 3 months and is driving me mad... this week he is more grumpy than usual.. he has had the nappy rash during thisweek and I thought I would see a tooth for sure but no nothing still... they are so close but so far... he has a bit of a sniffly nose today so I hope he isnt going to get a cold...

My monster wakes at night and wont go back to sleep....

As someone said it would be much better if they could talk...

you could try some Brauers teething relief, that helped mine a lil bit. Just at the chemists.

I hate teething!! DD has cut three teeth (over months, it seems:rolleyes: ) and each time we've had screaming, sleepless nights, red raw bottoms...I've taken her to the doctor countless times to check for ear infections......
GGGRRRRRRRRRR.....stinkin' teeth.

Two words: Jekyll and Hyde!! :D

We get the whole spectrum of grumpiness and sleepless nights! But then, when he is happy it seems so much more gorgeous!! :o

My content, happy, smiling baby has been taken over by a sad faced little one who whines most of the time atm. Driving me insane :banghead: What's worse is how helpless I feel we have tried just about everything but they just have to go through it.:(

mine was sooky rather than grumpy. teething gel and childrens 8 hour ibuprofen before bed saved muumy her sanity and DS his sleep. during the day, just coat his teething rings with teething gel. oh and plenty of cuddles..........................

My little man is so grumpy and sooky! It's exhausting. I took him to the GP thinking he may have an ear infection or something, but all looked fine. So it must be teething, right? He has had a bit of a temp, red cheeks on occasion (but not constantly), he is waking up SOOOOOOOO many time in the nights and he is off his bottles.

But there is no nappy rash, runny nose etc - in your experience gals, do you think it's teething? He's 5 months tomorrow. I have felt his gums and they feel lumpy, but there's no sight of any teeth trying to break through. I reluctant to try Bonjelo etc unless I know it's teething.
