Hi there,
Can anyone tell me if it is bad to exercise during IVF or at what point you should take it easy? I like to be pretty active with yoga/stretching/walking and the gym a couple of times a week. I am not a gym junkie or a triathelete or anything, but hate being a couch potato. My friend who went trhough IVF unsuccessfully 3 x said that the docs advised against any exercise during the treatment. I think I will go crazy if I have to do that! (not to mention what a great stress relief it is)
Any advice from people who've been there would be great. Thanks for listening.

xx Julia

HI Julia .

Here is what I found on Melbourne IVF about exercising during IVF ... http://www.mivf.com.au/ivf/infertility/ivfpreparation.asp?cat=sub4

I suppose there is no problem until your have your embryo transfer . But I think they rather you doing smooth exercises rather that hard one . With the stimulation cycle , they probably want your body to have 200% of it 's energy ... as the hormones drain a lot out of your body ...

I use to walk 40 minutes a day , everyday ... and I needed it . Yoga ect are really good for you I think ...

Hope that helps , take care .
