View Full Version : Where do you buy paint for your kids
I bought a box from Kmart of painting stuff it had sponges, brushes and a variety of different paints. All of those supplies have now run out just just wondering what type and where do you buy poster paint for your kids?
Pricesplus. Overflow. Crazy Clarks. Cheap stores like that.

For DD I tend to just use food colouring and water - she is happy with this and the mess is minimal:smiliedance:. this also great to do crayon wash (do a picture with crayon then paint with the water colour) or for bigger kids magic picture /secret messages write/draw with white crayon then do the wash over the top to reveal the picture/message.
However the other thing I do is make finger paint (can use a brush too :D) using corn flour and water and food colour it doesn't last a partucularly long time but if you keep it in the fridge it lasts longer but at least it doesn't mater if they mix the colours up you can just chuck it and make more.
I just mixed corn flour with a tiny bit of boiling water, to make a thick paste then add more water until you have a paint consistency then divide into containers and add food colour to make the desired colours. (this is what a lot of preschools/kindys use)
