Can anyone recommend a good fruit & veg shop/market on the GC?
I went to coles yesterday and spent $30 on f&v and got sweet bugger all and it was all pretty ordinary quality.
I know there are quite a few growers markets on the coast, but which is the best value and quality?
Thanks.
I go to ALDI,sooooooo cheap
I got a punnet of strawberries for 99c and 1kg carrots for 49c this week!!
Its always got cheap fruit and vege!
Its not on the gold coast, but I do know of a couple (used to run our local greengrocer) who now operate an organic fruit/veg market at their place in Alberton (near Yatala). PM me if you want the details. Their stuff is always excellent quality and tastes better than usual supermarket produce and isn't too expensive. I live in Brisbane (southside) and make the journey there, as the quality can be beaten!!

I love the farmers markets.. my local is the Mudgeeraba one, love it and is sooo cheap and everything is so fresh. I love the fact you get to buy direct from the grower too. I just got a flyer in the mail last week advertising the Pac Pines one that has just started so am planning on checking that one out soon, they also have organic hormone free meat/chicken and seafood..
I'll spend $50 at the farmers market and get all my fruit and veg, some indian curry..yummo, feta dips and 1kg of prawns, oh and an extra $3.50 for a tandori pie on the way out :p

hi,
I have got heaps of good buys from the one at Harbour Town , ( Southern End)
Really cheap compared to woolies etc.
oh and i love banana's but havent been getting them at supermarket cause there way to $$$$ , but i have found that you can get great Lady Finger bananas at the Paradise Point markets really cheap, i think it was like $4-5 KG and they alway throw in extras so they dont have to give change.
I think the PP markets are the 4 th Sunday of every month..

I dont know where they advertise, maybe the local paper but the ones I know about are:
Mudgeeraba - showgrounds, 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month
Marina Mirage - The spit, 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month
Pac Pines (haven't been to this one yet) - Hotham Drive, 2nd and 4th Sat
so basically every Saturday there is one somewhere on the coast, oh and they only go from 7am to 12 noon, I like to go at about 11am so you get all the bargins. :D

Yep! Through the power of Google, I bring you...
Markets! (http://www.goldcoast.qld.gov.au/t_standard2.aspx?pid=211)
The Bundall one seems quite good, been a few times and always been happy with the prices and quality, haven't been to any others.
