Hi all,

I did a quick search of 3 words in Bub Hub- 'fillings', 'amalgams' and 'mercury'. But nothing came up:no:, and it made me realise how much people might not know about what they are putting in their mouths.....literally.

If you Google 'Mercury Amalgam Poisoning' you'll be surprised at what you read. I never realised I could put the way I'm feeling down to the amalgams in my teeth:(. I still need to get my mercury levels tested, but it would explain a lot of things. I will get it done and I will post on here my results.

Mercury Poisoning can cause-
Nausea*, vomitting*, metallic taste in mouth*, floaters in eyes*, anxiety, confusion*, depression, mood swings*, fear and nervousness, chronic fatigue*, shyness*, restlessness*, thyroid problems, MS, faintness*, dizziness*, frequent headaches*, ringing in ears*, joint and muscle weakness*, stiffness*, cramping, lack of concentration*, memory loss*, bad breath*, chronic coughing*, sore throats*, allergies* (especially egg and dairy), hair loss, skin problems*, fibromyalgia, asthma, arthritis, candida*, diabetes, eczema*, kidney disease, learning disorders, ADHD, liver disorders*, Parkinson's disease, plus many more!!

The reason I put stars next to some of the symptoms is because they are my main symptoms. I came across this because I was researching, trying to find the answers to my constant headaches, sore throat, cough, fuzzy eyesight, Keratosis Pilaris (skin problem), and fuzzy head, and the feeling that even after 7-9 hours sleep, I still feel like crap:sleeping:. I went to a Natropath and had the Vega Test done. He said I had a Dairy allergy, and my Gluten Intolerance was also elevated, but probably due to the Dairy problem. I asked if I was also allergic to eggs, he said no. However if I was to have an egg on toast or scrambled eggs, well lets just say it didn't come out well! So after he said that I wasn't allergic to eggs I gave them another go, same results. So I just figure I can't have eggs on their own, that's ok, I can still put them in cakes and other recipes.

Then I stumbled across a Google search that said "Chronic Fatigue and Mercury Poisoning" all in the same sentence, I was hooked and started reading. I was diagnosed with CF about 10 years ago after a bout of Glandular Fever that I'd had sometime between the age of 18-21. I have not been the same. Before the GF I was very fit and healthy, playing 7 games of netball per week, just generally bounding out of my skin. All of a sudden I was lactose intolerant (which I didn't know til about the age of 29 after my son was diagnosed), I put on 30 kgs over about 4 years, and I was tired all the time. Over the last 10 years I have slowly gotten more and more floaties in my eyes, increasing mild (but constant) headaches, and actually had my very first migraine last year. Over time my skin (KP) has gotten worse and worse. My KP was actually what started me trying to find out what the hell was going on with my body. My throat feels constantly irritaed and I have a cough, which gets so bad if I get sick I almost vomit. Mercury gives off vapours, and when you have things like hot drinks, chew gum or brush your teeth, your fillings release toxic mercury vapor. And it's more poisonous than lead or arsenic I read.

I thought back to going to the dentist when I was a teenager. I remember having 3 sessions with the dentist about the age of 17, I had 9 fillings in total. I was horrified at the time, and even to this day I have not forgotten how embarrassed I felt about it. From then on the dentist has been a necessary evil. I have no idea how many fillings I have now, it'd be close to twenty, if not more. Part of me hopes that I don't have Mercury Poisoning, to go through having them all removed will be a pretty hard thing to deal with, but it would be an answer to my health problems:yes:.

I hope I have helped someone in some way by posting this. Even if just to make us think about what we put in our mouths!

Thanks for reading! (if you got this far!!)

i had a read through this...you say you have cf and developed it from glandular fever... which is quite common.... also you said that you are lactose intolerance - this also comes from glandular fever, this virus turns off the lactase enzyme.
all the above things happened to my mum. i say the following as advice because its what mum and my cousin both had happen.

from the list of your symptoms you mentioned its like i am looking at something my mum has written.....
after her cf diagnosis and management she had all these symptoms too and ended up getting tested for everything you can think of....

turns out these symptoms can be explained by:
mixed connective tissue....which leads to lupus... this is also triggered by cf.
to get a diagnosis of this you need to see a specialist.

i hate to say it but this is sounds like a more reasonable explaination rather than a few fillings that have been there for years... which in all truth have very minute amounts of mercury.
please pm me for more info or with questions im happy to answer.

Silver amalgam fillings have 50-70% mercury, and lupus has been listed as a symptom of mercury poisoning.

I'm not saying I definately have it. I'm saying that after what I have read I'm definately getting my mercury levels checked.
