View Full Version : Anyone TTC With Endo?
I have been TTC since Jan 05 and was diagnosed with Endometriosis in Dec 05.
I underwent 6 months of hormone treatment that was meant to shrink the Endo. After 4 implants it was discovered treatment wasn't working.
So now we are on another TTC break until Sept when i have my 2nd LAP.
I don't know many other people with Endo, And find it hard to cope some days its like :banghead:

Hi there. I was diagnosed in april 2001 and then with PCOS in 2003. We tried for 18 months before we fell but eveything went fairly well after that. It is very hard, i know but dont lose faith. It will happen when you least expect it. It was when we stopped 'trying' and not worrying about it that it happened for us. I really think that the more you fret and obsess over it , the less liley your o=body will cooperate.
let me know if i can help in anywhay xxx

Hi Elissa :hugs: Sorry to hear about the problems you are having.
I don't have endo, but I did have similar pelvic scarring and adhesions caused by an infection. My acupuncturist treated me in the same way she would treat someone with endo - with fantastic results. Have you considered or tried any natural remedies?
:hugs: again.
I was trying a few herbs and accupuncture as well as Kieneselogy i didn't notice any change :(
My FS doesn't think i will fall PG naturally because my Endo is so severe :gloomy: I am thinking about going back to the Naturopath when we are TTC again in Oct otherwise it's a few months of TTC naturally then onto AC

Not ttc and I don't have Endo (atm), but I was a yes to your question about 4yrs ago.
It's a catch 22 really cause pregnancy is the cure for endometriosis, but endo makes it difficult for you to fall pg. :banghead:
I did all the test's with Dr's, had a laproscopy, did one cycle of IVF (iui) and then saw a fertility specialist naturpath and after a year on herbal tonic's, vitamins and a diet change, we fell pg naturally.
It really is an emotional rollercoaster and I can sympathise with you, but the best advice I can give you is to have faith that it will happen and surround yourself with those who best support you and your situation.
It took us such a long time (see my signature below), but we drew on the positive's, like we were more comfortable financially by the time they came along, we also spent more time on establishing our relationship (which became closer through this experience).
If you want to chat more, feel free to pm me anytime :) I have :fingerscrossed: (& everything else) that your time will be soon.
Mine took years to finally get diagnosed.
I was booked in to get the laproscopy done and found out i was pregnant the day before. I was stunned! i was told i wouldnt ever get pregnant.
Sadly i lost that baby, however i went ahead with the operation and now i have a delightful 13 month old to show for it.
Chin up and dont lose hope! it can happen!
Hi there,
I too have endo, I found out I had endo about 4 years ago when I had a lap done to remove a LARGE ovarian cyst. At that stage it was only a small amount. However, when DH and I decided to try for a bubby June last year, well nothing was happening and I was getting BAD period pain. Went back to doc Jan this year, I had a Lap done in March and found out I had extensive endo, mainly behind the uterus. I have since had 3 IUI's all failed, I am now wanting to move onto the IVF as I feel the longer I leave it and not get Pg the more time I am giving the endo to grow back and cause me even more prob's. It's sometimes hard to explain to people who dont understand and how important it is to get preggers...:banghead: I am goig to see a natropath in Aug to get some more help... This guy is meant to be good he has been dubbed Brisbane's baby maker.. so I will try anything
Any way I know how you feel and all I can say is stay positive and stress free.
Ange ;)
Thanks girls
I knew i had something wrong before i had my 1st LAP. I was passing out and fainting when i had my period and spent around 2 weeks a month in bed throwing up and in the worst pain.
Sounds weird, but when i was told i had Endo i was relieved, Only because i knew it just wasn't me being a sook which other Dr's had told me.
We have decided to try for a few cycles after my LAP and then if i don't fall PG we will go straight to IUI then IVF.
Fingers crossed..

Hi Louie3.
It is a shock to find out you have it but I also understand the relief at finding an 'answer' for your agony. I too have endo- it was suspected at age 16 with severe pain and passing out but we didn't have laparoscopy's back then. I got put on the pill and the symptoms ceased completely and I forgot about it and decided I didn't have it.
I started getting mre pain just as I got married at age 27, went for my first lap and was told it was moderate-severe and fertility would be an issue. Felt like a wreck but we started trying asap. After 4 months we conceived naturally and had our gorgeous dd in Jul 01. I had done a lot of reading and my specialists said with endo you never know if it means fertility issues or not- some people have only one 'spot' nowhere near the ovaries yet can't conceive. Others are riddled with it and merrily get pg very easily.
After dd turned 2 we came off the pill to try for #2 and that's when the fun started. Pregnancy does not cure endo- it just removes the cycles and symptoms. 3 years later I have had 2 more laparoscopies, 4 cycles of IUI and one cycle of IVF. We have had 2 BFPs and 2 m/cs. That said I am not giving up hope as the most recent laparoscopy has really helped and the IVF nearly worked as we got a BFP but it didn't stick.
I don't know how old you are but the older you are the faster you should get to AC I figure especially when there is a known issue. Anyhow, hang in there, NEVER give up hope and do not feel you are alone. I know about 10 close friends and family with endo ranging from mild- severe and at least 3 got pregnant naturally.
Do take care, reduce stress, get exercise and eat well because I have found the more run down and unhappy I am the more active the endo is. Good luck with the lap too

It's a catch 22 really cause pregnancy is the cure for endometriosis, but endo makes it difficult for you to fall pg. :banghead:
I am still yet to meet a woman with endometriosis who had found having children a cure:no: . Mine has never been worse as it is now. I think it is a nine month relief and nothing else - as you dont get a period. My best friend from uni had the worst case they doctors have ever seen and it only got worse after she had her two children. She had a full hysterectomy at 29 after she had her two babies.
Sorry to make that a negative - but on a positive Loui3 - every woman with endo that I know (and i know many including my sister and my mother) have all fallen pregnant and had successful pregnancies - so hold faith and it will all turn out just as you desire xxx
Thanks girls ;)
6 weeks to go :shame: and hopefully i will be Endo free for a while.
I went through a point where i wanted to give up and i even asked my FS for a Hysterectomy in Feb
Hopefully this journey will end soon and i will be pain free
