Same as my son did -what I did was when he woke at 5 I just pulled him into bed with me - no bottle just dummy and made him lay there till a better hour. He whinged a bit for the first few days then started going back to sleep. When he went back to sleep I would put him in his cot. It worked for me - he still won't wake untill about 8 -9am most days.

When my son woke around 5ish (happened a fair bit)
first i would try to resettle him with dummy, blankets tucked in, lots of "shh shh its sleeping time" and then i leave the room (all in all about 2 minutes)
If he still wont resettle i brought him in with me and made sure he knew he was there to sleep and not play.... eventually he slept.

Now he just sleeps till around 7:30 - 8am :)

Ocassionally he wakes around 5 again and we just use the same process but he hardly ever wakes now before 7:30.....

Some kids are just early risers I think. As a child I would always be up early and now it looks like my kids are the same. At the moment during winter they will sleep to 5.30 but come summer they will be back to 5am starts. I have tried everything but nothing has worked and unfortunatly neither will even sit still in our bed so I have just had to except that is the way they are.
Sorry I havent any advice, I hope some of the other sugestions work for you but if not at least you know you are not alone.

I started leaving a few books or a favorite toy in Chloe's cot over night. When she'd wake very early she'd often play with them by herself for an hour or so. Eventually she'd either go back to sleep or decide she was hungry and start making enough noise to wake me. But often I'd hear her quietly playing at 5 or 5:30, I'd go back to sleep and at 7 still find her cheerfully playing. This might not help everyone, dd has always liked books and been happy in her crib.

hi i just have a little question related to this
my son sleeps through the night from 7 pm and then wakes at 6-6.30 am is there anyway i can get him to sleep til 7.30 -8 am?? he is 7 months and has three solids and four bottles a day. is there ever hope that he will do this ? i am not a morning mum, maybe this isn't the right profession for me :)
i currently bring him into bed when he wakes (leaving him to ooh and ahh to himself in his cot as long as possible) and feed him there

any tips??

Not sure how old your child is but I put a bottle of water in my son's cot. Through out the night I can hear him havea drink and he goes down at 7.30pm and wakes at 7am. He does wake through the night but I don't go into him at all and he eventually goes back to sleep by himself any where from 5-10mins later.

Since he's been born we have never taken him into bed with us, only when he wakes up in the morning to have a play with dad before he goes to work.
