I'm such a newbie at this cot business.

DS and I have coslept for the past 6 months, but now we are moving the daytime naps to his cot. Which is working great, except he keeps rolling onto his tummy and getting his arms and legs caught in the rails, and wakes up crying.

How do I combat this? I do have a cot bumper, but it says not for use when the baby is under 12 months. Any advice?

It might not sound very helpful, but they DO get used to their new surroundings and learn to move around and not get stuck anymore. Trust me! Theres nothing you can do....they will learn...!

Sam was a cot sleeper and he went through the same phase at about the same age. I still don't understand how he managed to get his leg wedged up to the crotch...

The reason they say no bumpers is to do with bubba getting his face against it and the possible ramifications of that. But I have heard that you can get mesh/netting type bumpers too, so that if he does get to a position with his face against it, he can still breathe - but his legs/arms can't get through the bars. KWIM? :D

Thanks the_queen...I'll have to do a visit to the baby store I think!

I was so glad when he started rolling...I didn't even think of the side effects!
