My poor little man has been sick, I thought it was just another cold/cough took him to the doctors today and he has acute bronchitis. If it doesnt get better by Wednesday he has to go into hospital to go on the ventilator. Apparently this can be a bit trumatic for them.

I want to do anything I can to help him get better...

Any suggestions?

hi there:wave:

Hope yr bub is feeling better. I dont no if there is anything you can do to stop the progress of bronchitis, the ventolator will depend on oxygen levels so i think you'll just have to wait & see.

my dd had it wen she was 2 and was in hosp for a week, sorry i cant offer any help. But at least you caught it early. Best of luck:fingerscrossed:

Hi, days 4,5 AND 6 are thought to be the worst days of this virus.

Unfortunatley nothing will make it better other than time.

Just make sure he keeps his fluids up, put some saline drops in his nose before he feeds if he has good input and output they wont put him in hospital, unless it turns into pnemonia.

awww hon.. my DS1 had the same thing when he was 8weeks and ended up in hospital for 2.5wks :crying: .. there's not many things you can do. If he struggles for air i strongly suggest running a hot shower to steam up your bathroom and sit there with him for a little while.

How old is the little man ?

He is 9 months old. Its horrible watching your children be sick and not be able to do much.
I just tried the shower/steam trick but im not sure how much it helped but I will persevere.

Thanks!!

Hey there,

Yep I suffered as a baby and have had bronchitis almost every year. I highly recommend a vaporiser. It might not help at this stage if you only have till Wed, but I would get one anyway - its a great long term investment.

both myself and my youngest brother suffered from this i still get it now.
there isnt much you can do when bubs has it. if they have a fave dvd i would suggest makign them comfy in the lounge and let them watch that. lots of fluids :)
and a vaporiser is good if you have one :)
