I had an eptopic pregnancy leading to miscarriage in June and now I'm 5 weeks pregnant. Hubby and I are naturally pretty nervous about the whole thing and the fact i have been felling so queasy and ill, painful nipples, teary, angry etc has been quite reassuring.

Last night I went for a swim becuase my head was going crazy and it was so great. I came home feeling really good BUT my symptoms have really reduced to almost nothing - just a feeling of slight cramping (like gas) quite high up and some heartburn or something and IM TERRIFIED...have I lost the baby???? The doctor can't reassure me at all until scan next week. Has anyone had symptoms end at 5 weeks abruptly and still been fine? Should I get myself ready for bad news.

So worried and driving myself crazy???

Try not to stress too much , I have never had a miscarriage but when i was pregnant i did'nt have many pregnancy symptoms at all, I got morning sickness only on and off from about 12 weeks and i burped alot thats about all , i never got sore boobs (not untill the end).
Everybody is different.

hi mum1977 after having an ectopic myself I would not be waiting around until next week on a Dr's schedule

demand a scan now given what you have already been through you need to know

otherwise head to the nearest hospital and if need be tell them the pains are worse than actual
get a scan you need to know what is going on next week is just not good enough

wish you all the best

thanks for good wishes, I'd love to have the scan tomorrow but the doctor tells me there won't be anything to see until next week.

:hugs: After 3 m/c's I know how stressful this time can be. This time around I had symptoms that were on and off at the beginning...sometimes I would forget I was UTD cos I felt so good!

Your Dr is right - a scan wont show anything at 5 weeks...just a sac, which wont help to reassure you. You really are best of to wait a week when they will be able to see your growing bub. I'm sure your symptoms will come back soon (and you'll be wishing they hadnt;))

Good luck!

I know it's a tough wait, but the up side is waiting until next week, you may see the heartbeat which will be better than just seeing a sac.

Good luck!

I found that in my first trimester, swimming or other gentle exercise made me feel great. I showed NO signs of being pregnant until i stopped.

I went for my first scan at 5 weeks. they couldn't see very well and i was told the pregnancy prob wouldn't last.:( i got all worked up for nothing as everything was normal. :yelclap:
Don't stress but if you are worried just take it easy and try and relax as much as possible.

I posted a thread too a couple of weeks ago about symptoms stopping, easing up (not that i had much to begin with) but i was sure my boobs had shrunk from when they got big & i had a couple of days i felt really off but then they stopped too. All was good at my scan though, my symptoms have been no indication of how things are going at all! so to reassure you - symptoms easing up is not always bad news xx
