View Full Version : Exercise & TTC??
Hi Everyone,
I have never really posted on here before, so this is a first for me. My Husband and i have been TTC for only 3 months and as yet nothing,, BUT here hoping for the fourth month!!!
I was just wondering what everone thinks about excercising and TTC? I do a lot of gym work and i do pump, which is lifting weights to music. I dont lift weights that are really really heavvy, but i am just scared that even lifting slightly heavy weights is not good. Do you think it is having any impact on our success? I would love to know if anyone has been given advice on this?
I just dont want to compromise our chances by doing too much.
thanks, any info would be great. :o

From what I understand (but please somebody correct me if I'm wrong), if you have been regularly exercising for at least a number of months before ttc you can continue to do that while ttc. Obviously no full-on body-building or whatever, but regular exercise is meant to be fine.
Good luck

Anything your body is used to doing is fine, just don't go suddenly taking up shotput or discus or something if it's not something you've done before!! Whatever is normal for your body will not affect you TTC - just remember to stay hydrated and be healthy!
Good luck on your TTC journey - I hope you get your BFP soon
Hi Keys12,
I have been thinking the same thing about exercise as I do a fair bit of gym work, pump, spin & have recently started Body attack which I love though worried that I don't want to do too much. My naturopath said exercise is healthy but just don't start up anything your not use to if you have been doing it regulary for a while then it should be fine.
I actually had a mc in august & we have been trying ever since & I was worried that i might do too much exercise but then I felt down as wasn't exercising so got back into it & feel much better. They say exercise is good for you as when u do fall pregnant your body will adapt better & hopefully be able to bounce back alot better after giving birth. Fingers crossed for you this month :)
Thanks for the info ladies. It's good to know that i am not compromising our chances.
I have heard that during the time of ovulation you should try not to raise your temperature too much, as it can be bad for the developed egg. who knows?
anyways thanks again!!
good luck to all of you who are trying agian this month
:wizard:

Exercise as much as you want! Even if you have never exercised before!!
The only time you should slow down is once you find out you are preggers..... and that is only about not starting new exercise.
As far as a high body temperature, its not good for anyone to have this. So make sure you drink alot of water, and stop if you get faint or dizzy.
Keep exercising!! I have taught Pump, Attack, Step and Balance and lifted heavy weights through all my pregnancies and have 4 wonderful, healthy children :)
