Just wondering how i find out if im having anovulatory cycles?
I get a positive OPK every month but my cycles keep getting longer and longer and no pregnancy is being achieved. :(

you need to request a progesterone blood test, they're normally done on cd21 but if you don't think you are oing until later in the cycle best to get the bt roughly 7dpo. Are you charting? you should be able to see an ovulation pattern if you are.
Good luck i hope you get your bfp soon.

No im not charting, just using OPK'S which turn positive on CD 17.
Im worried as today is CD 39 and i usually have 34-36 day cycles, so they're definitely getting longer.

OPK's only detect the surge of lutenising hormone in preparation for O, they don't actually confirm that ovulation has happened. You need to do one (or both) of two things - either start charting your BBT to see the sustained temperature shift after ovulation (or the lack of one!) - your temperature will rise in response to the progesterone being produced by the corpus luteum (the remnants of the follicle that produced your egg) - hence if you have not ovulated, there will be no corpus luteum and therefore no progesterone and no temp rise.

OR you can get a blood test as Ringneck said which will confirm your progesterone levels - if they are high, it will indicate you ovulated, but if they are low, then you haven't. The same thing is confirmed by your BBT - but obviously it cannot yield exact measurements of progesterone levels.

Good luck

Also does it have to be a BBT or will a normal thermometer do the job? is there anything else i should know as far as charting goes? someone mentioned checking CM and cervix position but i have no idea how to do that :o might sound pathetic but ive never done it before, could someone give me some info please? :o:o:o

mymonthlycycles.com or fertilityfriend.com. You can use a digital thermometer that measures to a tenth of a degree. Good luck!

The only difference between a BB thermometre and a normal digital one is the BB one measures to two decimal places (ie 37.55) whereas a normal digital thermometre only does one (ie 37.5). Many women (myself included) just use the normal digital one and can still get a clear reading and obvious thermal shift.

As for your cervical position (CP) and cervical mucus (CM), do some Googling, there are HEAPS of websites devoted to it. If you are comfortable with your body, it's very easy. If you don't want to insert your fingers to check your CP, then you can just note your CM from your vulva entrance and underwear.

Good luck!
