Hi
Just thinking ahead a bit to when I go back to work or study...and we been thinking about getting a nanny or someone similar to look after bub but also do some really light housework...are there such people in perth and who would be willing not to live in...I aupaired in London and it was all a done deal room, car and food etc for a 5 day week of looking after kids and doing light housework and 1 nights babysitting for 5 kids and I only got paid 330 dollars a week...we would only want soemone for the hours I was working or studying and wouldnt be able to offer a room or car... does anyone know of agencies in Perth?? I feel really weird hiring someone to look after my child and do light housework but not sure I feel totally happy with childcare outside home either and will really need some help around house as DH away most of time...

Hi GeorgieM,
I am a nanny myself in Perth and I do not live in with the family and I have to use my own car to transport the kids and pick the older ones up from school and all that.
There are a few agencies you could try. Choice in Care, Family affair,Dial an Angel or another cheaper option is www.findababysitter.com.au.

Hope this helps you!

i am also a parttime, liveout nanny in Perth. Im sure there would be many nannies around looking for a job like you've described. Also look up nannies in the yellow pages or put a ad in the paper. Goodluck with finding the right carer.

 Hi again Georgie!

I am back at work one day a week and we have hired a fantastic nanny through a Perth agency called Mrs Doubtfire. Basically, we pay the agency a placement fee (around $200 I think) and then negotiate an hourly rate with the nanny herself. We are so happy with the lovely lady we got - she is an ex-neonatal nurse and so very experienced with tiny babies. We pay her $18 an hour. The agency has a website where you just type in your location and requirements and they match you to a nanny. I have total confidence leaving Matilda in her care - so worth the money!
Mrs Doubtfire is listed in the Yellow Pages.

Best of luck.
