Hi everyone,
I have just had to cancel my Doula course.:crying:
The person I was going to use as my nanny has had second thoughts as I have 4 children and she is worried about having to look after them for long periods (babys can take days as everyone knows).
My hubby works away and I have no other family in the near suburbs.
I am so upset, I was so looking forward to it.
I am doing my bachelour of midwifery in 12 months so this would have been a bonus to assist women with their birth.
I am just going to go wollow :gloomy:

Thats such a shame. But best to find out now than when you have started. Why dont you do a correspondance course in doula-ing?

Hey WA mum of 4....so sorry things haven't worked out. Such a bugger when everything seems to fall into place only to fall out again.

If you are still keen to do a Doula course, Childbirth International offers an online / correspondence course - you can choose to just access their info online or have all the material sent to you. Not the same as going to a face to face workshop and getting to bounce ideas off people, but the material they offer is very high quality and the support is very good.

Anyway, just a suggestion....hope things work out for you nanny-wise soon!

Thats such a letdown. Sorry for your dissapointment.

IS there any chance of finding another nanny?

Hope things work out.

That is such a shame to for you! I am a nanny of 4 very full on kids and yes there are days that seem like they will never end and the kids are hard work but you just put you chin up and move forward as anyone can have a bad day in any sort of job!! :fingerscrossed: I hope it all works out for you in the end. :hugs:

Thanks for your advise Tracie about childbirth international but I would rather be in a class with others, I find you learn and absorbe more vital information that way.( Thats just me personally).
I will just have to see what happens and hope that I can find another nanny or my original will get up the courage:laughing: to watch my kids.
Thanks for the support ladies I just need a winge, very disappointed:crying:

you poor thing having to give up a course you had your heart set on!!!!

If your interested in finding another nanny try www.findababysitter.com.au and type in your postcode. It comes up with a list of people willing to work in your area. Its a pretty good website (also good incase you need a casual sitter for a night out but it has a list of poeple looking for fulltime nanny jobs as well)

Goodluck and i hope everything comes together in the end.
