Hi ladies,

I had a positive opk Friday and was pretty sure I ovulated on Saturday. My cervix was high, egg white mucus, full ferning on maybebaby etc. When I woke up this morning I had no temp rise and egg white mucus was gone. Is it possible to have a temp rise the following day rather than the day after ovulation? thanks. :o)

The ovulation signs come before ovulation....
LH surge (that was detected in your OPK) and the egg white cervical muscus as well. This fertile CM takes the sperm up so it is ready for when the egg comes out.

So you probably ovulated a day (or half day) after you think. Then your temp will rise the next day after ovulation. Your temp rises from the progesterone produced by ovulation.... so if theres no temp rise you havnt ovulated yet (or only just)

Thanks so much for your response. Hopefully I get my temp rise tomorrow to confirm ovulation. :o)

The rise in BBT is due to the progesterone released by the follicle when you ovulated. The remainder of the follicle is called the corpus luteum and it releases progesterone to tell your uterine lining to 'stay put' in case conception occurs and an embryo needs to immplant.

Sooooo - you will normally get the temp rise within 12 hours or so of ovulation - once enough progesterone has been released to increase your BBT.
