Oh yes, silly me! Who said you can't fall pregnant while breast feeding. I had a period 5 weeks ago and did it click then that I could fall pregnant again? Nooooo! So I find myself 6 days overdue and think I'll do a pregnancy test just to ease my mind. Whoops!! What do you know, there's 2 pink lines! I feel like I've only just given birth! That means that I'll have three babies under 3 with the second and last baby being only 10 and a half months apart! That's insane! Has anyone else fallen pregnant so soon after birth? I'm 40 and not sure after my last horrific pregnancy how my poor body is going to cope with another one so soon. For us, there's no question of not keeping the baby but I think it's going to be a really hard 40 weeks.

Wow! Congratulations!

I have a friend who fell pregnant when baby1 was only 6 weeks old. She wanted it that way, so her pregnancy days could be over. She found it was easy because she was already run down from looking after a little baby that she reached 6 months in her pregnancy easy. She had a pretty rocky first pregnancy too, and in comparison her second was smooth. I hope yours goes smoothly too. :fingerscrossed:

So, congratulations. :D

CONGRATS :yelclap:

My partner and his now ex had 3 babys in 3 years the first two were about 21 months apart and then they accidently fell pregnant when the other boys were 2 1/2 years and 8 weeks old.
They are all boys.
It was too much for thier mother and she ran away and left them all with my DP when the youngest was 6 months old

But she is nutty and I am sure you will be fine ;)

My partner raised them by himself pretty much until he met me (when the youngest was 16 months).

Its been a challenging few years but its getting easier now that the boys are older they are currently 5,6 and 7.
The younger two are so close in age that for about two months of the year they are the same age , like this year the youngest turned 5 before the middle one turned 6 so they were both 5 at the same time.

They do get along but......They fight alot!!! and all fight for attention I think in our case it's a bit different because there mum is not very 'motherly' with them and they crave lots of attention from my DP.

As long as you survive the baby stage they will be a easy later on, they will all entertain each other thats for sure.

Good luck with everything.

 I was wondering where that story was leading!

My boy is 9 1/2 weeks old and although we wouldnt dare 'try' again now, I would secretly be excited about being pregnant again...hehehe... (however I am 30 in next month...:o;))

YIKES!!! my bub is 8 weeks old and I'm yet to work up the courage to DTD again lol... no risk of pg round here!

Congratulations, I think you'll be fine. You'll cope because there's no other option  there are definate advantages to having babies so close, they 'should' be really great mates as they grow older and when you're already knee deep in babies what's one more?

Good luck :D

Ahhh it'll turn out to be the best thing that ever happened.
My first 2 are only 13mths apart. It was a little hard but I made myself be super organised(totally out of my comfort zone... usually super disoganised lol) ie aways refilled the nappy bag a soon as I go home so it was ready to just grab next time, tried to prepare dinner while babies had their afternoon sleep (if I wasn't asleep with them:laughing:)
You'll be fine!!!

I tried and tried to fall straight after when I had my first but it just didn't seem to happen, I fell 18 months after and miscarried and fell again 6 months after that. I tried again to fall but nothing, a new partner and 14 years later I'm pregnant again. Whether I try and fall again straight away I don't know I will see how this one goes I think.

I fell when my son was 2 months old - but that ended in a miscarriage at 11.5 weeks.

We then had 3 further losses before we got pregnant with this bub.

You'll be fine. I'm sure half the battle is mentally preparing yourself

Congrats on your pregnancy. One of my ex friends fell without even getting her normal period cycle back. Bub was 8 weeks old when she found out she was expecting! It does happen.

Hello!!

cONGRATS on your pregnancy!!! :yelclap:

My son will be 12 weeks on Wednesday and I have a feeling that I am pregnant. I am just waiting now for my periods. I am not on any contraceptive but I figured out that I would be fine if I just use condoms hahahah that's a good theory until they break!! So il see what happens :)

I really wouldn't mind if I fell pregnant again I would probably opt for a C section the next time round as I still remember the pain.

I would love to have a girl next. I am one of 6 girls in my family and we were all a year apart (go mum!!!) She had at one stage 6 kids under 7!! Now that's amazing!! I don't think I could do that :) But I would like to have two kids knowing my luck il probably have twins as I am a twin and my hubby has 2 sets of twins in his family.

:flowerz: But il let u all know how I go LOL I don't know what my hubby will say if I am preggys though as he struggles if the bubs wakes up at night.

Cheers
Emm

Ooh well if we're talking close together baby scenarios, I HAVE to butt in! I know someone who found out she was pregnant when her baby was 4 weeks old...THEN found out it was twins. So they were due when her 1st was 10 months old, but they came a month early. So she had a 9 month old and newborn twins . The bit that gets me about this story is that it means she had sex 2 weeks after she gave birth- OUCH! Anyway she's coping fine and I'm sure most women just rise to the occasion. It would be strain on your body though. Good luck!

Wow :)

Congrats, I am jealous!

I have a 14month age gap between my first two and an 11month age gap between my last two. My eldest is 5 in a few days and my youngest is 4 months.

The relationships they have with each other is worth every single bit of it!

Thank you all for your encouragement! I think I have moved past the initial shock now. I told my 13 y.o daughter today who accepted it much better than I thought. I was happy with the response of "It better be a girl, I will NOT be able to handle SIX brothers!" Exactly how I feel honey. The next step down the track a bit will be saving for a BIG car. We already struggle with 2 car seats in a sedan. Three would just be ridiculous. We'll be strapping them to the roof racks soon! Oh well, life is full of surprises. :flowerz:

My girlfriend has a double party every year because her children's birthdays are within a week of each other.

The first year with two was a bit of a blur for her, but not only has she coped, she has thrived despite some health issues of her youngest. I am sure you will too. Once the youngest turns one, they end up on the same routine and it gets a whole lot easier.

Two toddlers is so much fun, mine are close, but not quite that close.

Hi I am a mum of 4 beautiful children 10yr old girl, 4yr old boy, 15 mth old boy and our little surprise 4 mth old boy :-) I had alot of problems conceiving number 2 & 3 and after having Levi (15 mth old) we were happy our family was complete...We were so certain of having no more childnre that my husband had already been to his Dr to get referral for his vasectomy.
Feeling a it Yuk one day so I did a test when Levi was 8 wks just to put my mine at ease and I too sore the two pink lines.... I experienced a range of emotions but mainly stayed in a state of denial for many months...lol.. towards the end of the pregnancy got a bit tricky I had such low iron from having such close pregnancies that I was having weekly iron injections. Anyway here we are now nearly 5 mths later and I would not change a thing, must admit you have good and bad days and the 5pm - 7pm time is a bit of a killer especially if hubby late home or on night shifts... If all the kids are fed, bathed and happy and I get some me time once a week even if only to do the food shopping than this makes for one happy home :-)... If you ever want a chat just yell.

What I would have done for a big family, I was actually told I couldn't have anymore kids then fell 3 years ago but miscarried soon after, I got my hopes up and we tried and tried and tried but nothing, had more tests but kept being told it just wouldn't happen I had my LMP the day my dad died and 5 weeks later found out I was pregnant. I secretly hope to fall again after this one, haven't discussed it with hubby yet might wait a while I think.

Funny how things work out!! The chance of me falling pregnant was so small... after an ectopic pregnancy I lost 1 tube, my husband had hardly any swimmers and I also ovulate all over the place... Baby number 4 took only 1 time to concieve and now I am a true believer in miracle babies... I have my fingers crossed that you too will have another miracle baby!!

I know this scenario very well, I fell pregnant only 7wks after the ( caesarean ) birth of my 6th child, but all my kids are close in age with gaps of 9 and half months to 16mths, it's hard work but you get through it somehow:sunshine: but it can be a blur some days of constant washing, changing nappies and making bottles. Good luck with your next arrival.:yelclap:

My goodness, I hadn't even thought about nappies and bottles - three different sizes of nappies, two on formula. That's going to be a bit of a struggle financially. I'll breast feed as long as I can but for some reason the older I've gotten, the shorter the time my milk lasts. What have I done?

Your little bundle is meant to be!!!! Fingers cross for a pink one for you.

My two older brothers are 11 months apart!!! My mum felt pregnant when my older brother was 4 weeks old !!!! She had also concieved twins but she lost one thru m/c. She said it was like having twins and it was hard but got thru it.

My boys are 11.5 months apart which was a bit of a woopsi but it really is fantastic, they are such good mates. the first year was a bit tired but if you get yourself a good routine and stick to it you will have no probs. congratulations:flowerz:

I have 2 girls who are 15 months apart, and have just had another little girl to my new husband, she is 4 months now and we want to have another soon.
It is hard work initially but being organised helps, and they grow up so nicely together.

sorry to crash your thread.
just wondering for those of you who have close age gaps between kids, do u have to have a period after giving birth before you can concieve again?
i ask this as dh and i had sex yesterday and tyler is only 5 weeks old this coming wednesday. i havent got a period yet.
i am breastfeeding/expressing breastmilk and formula feeding our little man.

we are not trying to fall pregnant so soon but have discussed that if it happens it happens. our little man(tyler) was concieved through ivf but when i was 20weeks preg with him we found out what our problem was(we had unexplained infertility before hand) and that i just need to take a low dose asprin.

Congrats!! I would love to have my babies close together but I still remember the pain from giving birth and that makes me have second thoughts. Hopefully I will forget soon because I would like them about 2 years apart. Now I have to start saving for the second gotta love mortgages :reindeer:

CONGRATULATIONS!! :yelclap:

I fell pregnant when my son was 6 weeks old and now have a DD.. lol It was a definate shock at first because I was breastfeeding and all that but still managed to fall pregnant somehow! I love the age gap, but don't have a choice really lol
The difference between my 2 is 10.5 months and although both are very demanding, I love it and they will grow up being sooo close... The only thing I didn't count on was that DD had severe COLIC form 2 weeks old and OMG it was HELL! Luckily my DS is a good sleeper and slept through all the crying. All she did was scream 24/7 up till she was 12 weeks old. :( It was a very hard time... but not something you really think of happening thats for sure.

We all find a way to manage somehow though, and Im sure you will be fine!!

I keep thinking about bedtime etc routines, my son is on a strict bedtime routine and im worrying how I am going to go with 2, but I suppose you get there hey?!

TBH I cant remember much because my son's who were born on the 9th of april and 26th of feb were my 7th and 8th children so I was already flat out looking after them as well as my kids before them, and I have since had 3 more son's, so generally life is a big blur for me:o:laughing: but anyway if you only have the 2 then everything will work out fine.

Congratulation! and you will be fine xx
I'm not particularly religious but my mum has always said, God only gives us what he knows we can deal with..... and my mum was given 5 kids under 6! 4 of whom are boys (I'm the angel daughter of course! lol) and my brother who is just 11 months older than me is intellectually disabled... and she did it, mostly on her own.... so I think if we stay positive and relaxed (in mind set cause we all know mums aren't allowed to "relax"! lol) then we can do anything :-)

Good Luck! I know you'll be great
