I am just wondering what the negative side of immunising is. I know the pros, just wondering what the cons are.

Off the top of my head: nasty side effects, reactions, the fact that the vaccination may not provide the safeguard you are lead to believe it will, pain. Then there are the speculations that vaccinations may contribute to other, more serious effects - autism, other intellectual handicaps etc. The fact that they have not really been aroung long enough is scary as we have not yet seen large scale long term effects of vaccination.

I think the key word is "speculation" as well ;)

I think Carlia summarised it quite well.

On the Autism link, it is surprising that even the National Autistic Society of the UK currently have published a page on their site which states no firm link in any of the studies. This link here. (http://www.nas.org.uk/nas/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=115&a=3343)

The thing that worried me the most was the number of jabs DS would get in any one sitting. We limited it to 2 at any one time, just for his well being in trying to react to it all.

The only downside i have expericed so far was with the mmr ( measles, mumps, rebella). DS had quite a severe reaction to it. high temperatures and rashes, not eating anything. But for us, not doing it wasnt an option. Its such a personal decision though.
