milk coming in = diarrhoea?

My little bubba finally arrived on Tuesday, and my milk has been coming in for the past 36hours... for the past 12 hours he has had constant diarrhoea with a dirty nappy each hour... is this normal while his body adjusts to his new food supply?

Hey, I think it can be normal...but also bear in mind that BF babies can also poo that much a day and that it can be a runny consistency without being diarrhoea as such. My bub is normally BF (though FF now for a week till fri as I have to take steroids) and she still poos 8-10 times/day on BM.

oh wow i have so much to learn! thanks for ur reply nic. glad to hear it is normal... thankfully for bubs no dirty nappy since i posted that... it had seemed to be making him very upset last night but now we're having a very good sleep finally

Gosh My DS is 8 months (today) and still poos at least 2-3 times a day drives me nuts :rolleyes: but at least his wee system is working I guess:D

hehe what fun little people babies are... it's funny i thought dirty nappies would be a lot worse :laughing: but i guess being from my little man i dont mind...

nic i'll post my birth story in the next couple of days and will let u know when its up. things didnt go as smoothly as hoped but all is well :)
