Again I hope you don't mind my presumption in starting a thread for you, but I would like to post to you and I think it was a good idea to move the discussion to a (slightly) less emotional area.

Please think really hard before you make a decision that you might regret and make sure you avail yourself of all the help that there is out there. I hope that you've had a chance to talk to someone or have some counselling. Surely adoption is still an option to consider? Can you give us an update as to how you're going?

katherine, have not decided just yet, but every day it seems less likely that ill be ok with an abortion....must go help hubby with food!!!

I was wondering what happened to you! Hope you're doing ok. You know it's your decision but I just can't imagine you going through a termination after what you have already been through and how desperately you wanted another baby after losing Lucky. And from your new signature, it would seem that when you have made that decision in the past you weren't all that happy with it!

I can understand that Shane has been on such a rollercoaster too - first he meets this great new chick and he's really enjoying that.. and then finds out you're pregnant :eek: and takes that in his stride only to lose the baby in such a devastating way.. to then have you keen to try again so soon, him not being sure, then agreeing, then changing his mind and finally thinking it's all resolved and you'll travel - and whammo, you're pregnant again. I think all that has happened to you both in the last 12 months is more than most people could take!! Obviously this has been huge for you too, but I just thought it was important to recognise where Shane is at with the whole thing. From what you have said before, I'm sure he'd love a baby - itsounds like he just doesn't know whether he's coming or going after all that has happened. :o

Anyway - I'm not telling you anything that you don't know (but at least the background might fill in some of the gaps for others who have not been familiar with your situation :)).

shane has been through a lot of crap, regarding the other abortion, it wasnt even a choice, i didnt even think about keeping it, my ex was, well, not sutible for a friend, let alone a partner, let lone a father, hough i didnt deal with it well bcoz he kept (and still is) saying ' i dont now its mine' which is b*l*ks in itself.

again, dinner is ready. mmmm smells good! :)

It looks like you have been on a real emotional rollercoaster the last year or so and I don't know a lot about your story, but if I was you I would be talking to a professional of some sort to help you understand where you are both coming from and what you both want (I'm not sure if you are doing this or not). Whether you decide to keep it or not is a decision that will affect you for the rest of your life in one way or another. Men feel the same pain we do but just don't show it like we do, I think you both need to speak to a professional and go from there. Good luck with your decision, we are all here if you need us :)

we had a ahuge talk last night, and we decided to do it. :). he said he felt so relieved afterwards, because he didnt want to have to get rid of bubba. so i am in the best mood today.

I am soooooooooooooooooooo happy to read that you are going to have this one.
who knows why we loose babies (I lost one at 12 weeks and went on to have two beautiful babes)
I hug the two I've got and do play the what if's from time to time (the first one was when I was 16 and I hadn't met my husband yet) but I do know you've got to keep on going and this baby inside of you is a reflection of your love for your partner and the love you share and your love for lucky...

I think that its really great that you two have worked at this very difficult issue and that you've both come together and are committed to the plan. Well done for sticking it out and being able to discuss it together to come up with the answer. You've slugged through some tough times and I hope that all is much smoother from here on in.

I'm also so glad that you don't have to do this on your own. Having two parents united in raising children makes it easier on all of you.

I am so happy that Shane came around, as I agree it is always better to have both parents to raise a baby.
