Hi,

My 10 month old is reverting back to being an all night feeder. For awhile she was only waking twice a night but now we are back to at least once an hour. I can't see any teeth coming and panadol doesn't seem to help.

I want to wean but I am a bit petrified at how I will get her back to sleep at night.

Any help or similiar stories would be great.

Thanks
Bec

Hi

I gave Max a drink of water instead of milk and put him straight back to bed without saying anything to him. Unfortunatly every bub is different you just have to try and test everything.

Its so hard. I hope you find a solution soon.:fingerscrossed:

Good luck

DD is 7 1/2 months old and has been waking every 2 hours the last couple of nights. she's trying to master crawling. Usually, when they are about to achieve a big milestone they'll wake a lot through the night. They have trouble switching their brain off (just like us) and will wake to practice. Your DD is possibly waking, and then needing you to go back to sleep.
I tried not feeding DD the first night and it took 2 hours to get her back to sleep (she wasn't crying). Because breastmilk makes the baby sleepy I just fed her back to sleep every time last night...at least I was only up for 20 minutes each time.
Your DD might just be doing the same thing. Give it a week or so and see what happens, things might just settle back down on their own.

Has she started solids yet? :) Maybe she's hungry?

If not....my CHN said that once bubba is over 6 months, if they wake in the night you give them a bottle of cooled boiled water instead of milk. (As long as they are gaining weight, and have no health problems ect...)

It can just be a comfort thing, as they grow...but they will soon get sick of waking up for water, and start sleeping thru!

(Bring on 6 months...LOL)

I have been going through EXACTLY the same thing. No real suggestions from me - just that you are not alone.

Great to hear from you Sonja,

Sometimes it is just enought to know you are not alone.

Good luck, and hopefully some sleep.

Bec,

Have you triied cooled boiled water yet? We've had a couple of really bad nights but we're seeing teeth in the morning. I'm still not convinced that that is the cause of the waking though - I think she's just used to me giving her a quick feed in the middle of the night (she can self settle but sometimes she just doesn't want to). Anyway, just interested to hear if you've made any progress.
