View Full Version : Yellow 'explosive' poos!!

Since begining Karicare thickener mixed with Nan Ha, my DS has been doing runny, yellow poos that are explosive (I can hear them rip out!)
I am wondering if anyone elses bubs have done the same and if it went away???

my ds since he was born has had the explosive poo's since he was born and nothing has worked to change it they vary from runny explosive to pasty explosive sorry tmi but yep u can definately hear em rip, he's now 11months and still has it he's also seems to be worse when he has food so he has to see a gastrointerologist about it so not much advice here.

This happened to my DD. We switched from S26AR to NAN HA Gold (thickened with Karicare thickener) on advice of paed, to see if it would help with reflux. No change in reflux but explosive poos! Caused my DD so much grief with nappy rash and being woken from sleep for nappy changes that we switched back to S26AR after a week and no problems since!

My DD has been on the thickener for 3 weeks. Her poos are definitely runny and explosive. I spoke to the CHN about it today and she said it was fine and its a good thing because it means she is tolerating it well and its not 'clogging her up'

I dont really want to change formula, I might put less thickener (am already putting less anyway). Maybe the teat holes are too big (I made the medium flow ones a little bigger) and he is getting too much in his tummy at once...I have to buy 8 new teats now!
