Hi all,

i'm hoping someone can help calm my anxiety!!

I am 9 weeks preggars - still a big wow! Due to low progesterone levels, this time round i was on pessaries right from transfer 2x2 daily. My FS had said i could stop in week 4 but due to my anxiety (and what i've read from previous girls and miscarriage risk) we had planned to continue until 12 week scan. The plan was
up to week 10 cont. with 2 x 2 daily
week 10 1 x 2 daily
week 11 1 x 1 daily
week 12 no more
Anyway, this week i have been feeling totally crappy - nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea, extreme exhaustion!!! so yesterday FS said to come off the progesterone (as directed by NS over the phone). No weaning, no monitoring, nothing.
I have insisted on a blood test next week just to check my levels.
Anyone have any experiences? Should i be concerned? should i ask for another blood test in week 11 or am i just being neurotic?
the 16th nov. for 12 week scan just feels like soooo long away and would hate for something to go wrong just b/c of low prog. levels!!!
any ideas would be +++ appreciated!!!

Tricky one. I was on 2 x 400mg pessaries a day with my DD until week 10. No weaning.
This time around I just finished my last pessary yesterday. ( I was 13 weeks)
My Ob. wanted me to stay on them until 12 weeks. I had seven left over so from week 12-13 I did the one pessary.

Do you have an Ob? If so I would ask their opinion.

FS helped get your BFP but I would be getting advise from OB regarding actually pregnancy a second opinion will help with your anxiety

My name is Mrs Mermaid and I suffer progesterone paranoia

Personally I would rather suffer the side affects and stay on them till after 12 weeks.

I was on 2 x 2 pessaries and 1 x crinone a day.

Its a long way to go and I didnt want to risk it.

Even now Im using natural progesterone cream once a day till I get to about 34 weeks. As my body has an issue with absorbing progesterone and low levels can cause pre-term labour.

:iagree:My prog levels dropped dangerously low the day of my transfer so they double dosed me (4 a day) until around 10-11 weeks where I weaned off them to two a day then finished by 12 weeks.

I would be very reluctant to come off them, and definitely not without a BT to confim levels first - you cannot OD on prog anyway so I do not see what the problem is to continue for the few extra weeks - and you know, the symptoms you have described could well be (and sound exactly what I had) related to your pregnancy!!! I had all of those things until around 14 weeks then they stopped - I would be very surprised if it was related to the pessaries.

oi - think i am more stressed out now!!!
My FS is my OB. I am just surprised that he has taken me off the pessaries without a plan for regular blood test.
Is this something i can get done at my GP? I'm not sure what levels i am looking for?

my last pessary was yesterday morning. So i didnt take dose last night or this morning and i have to admit i feel 100% better. I really think the hormones in my body were just too high!!

I ordered my progesteron BT from my GP and Im glad I did. I had to change from my FS at 7 weeks to my at OB who then was happy to increase my dose.

Try to relax and they say the placenta does take over sometime around 10-13 weeks but I would definately get it checked.

If you get any spotting ring your FS emergency after hours number.
