I think my 2month old dd is teething, is it possible at that age?
She is wanting to suck our shoulders and shirts, her fist, her thumb and she's started dribbling the last week and blowing bubbles and has become very unsettled and whingy.

Im gathering her teeth are prob just starting to make their way under the gums and getting themselves ready to make an appearance in the next couple of months but ive never heard of a bub teething so young.

Is there anyone else out there who's little one started this early?

Does she have a dummy? babies LOVE to comfort suck .. if you have a dummy, you will find she will suck away.. teething can be very confusing .. I'm still learning!

I'm pretty sure the earliest is around 4 months and anything before that is quite uncommon!

Such a cute AVA!

bumping for more answers 4 U!

Yes she has got a dummy and she sucks on it so hard and loudly it makes us laugh. She's already caved one in and is on another.

Her temp fine as i checked that and its at 36.5 cause she felt really hot, im just not sure.

My mum said i had a tooth at 4mnths and they obviously take time to reach the surface and are agravating bubs as they do so,so she thought it may be possible that she's teething. I just dont know what to think:(

So im on the hunt for simmilar cases:detective:

My 3rd child got his first tooth at 10wks, so yeah, it's possible, lol. He had 2 teeth come through that week actually, and he had 8 teeth by 4mths.

Wouldn't that be nice, all the hard work is already half done, lol.

It could be teething but most babies go through a stage about now where they gnaw, suck, chew, anything that comes near them. They are also learning how to get their hands/fists to their mouths and they spend a lot of time 'practising' with dribbly, messy results! It will probably last a couple of months (if it isn't teething) and then settle down a bit.:)

I've been wondering about this myself. My niece is 12 weeks old and has been showing teething signs as well.

Unless you're breastfeeding! Mind you, gums can be bad enough. My friend's kiddo was toothless until 15 months, and by that stage she was even managing to nibble on bits of pizza!

Mmmm, tough one.

Yes it is possible, but its relatively uncommon. More likely is that most kids go through a developmental phase around that age where they start producing more saliva, but still can't swallow it, so they dribble LOTS, and they're also starting to find out that those things attached to the end of their arms actually belong to them, and OH LOOK, I can get them in my mouth! LOL.

Baby's learn about the world by putting everything in their mouth, and this lasts until they are 2+, this is just the start of it, it all starts with their own bodies.

It might be teeth, or it might just be that develomental phase.
