Hi all!
Just wanted some feedback....
DS is 4 weeks old now, and he's waking up pretty much spot on four hourly, then i'll feed him, burp him, change his bum and put him back in bed... Is this right? Do all babies of this age still need to go straight back to bed? It's just that sometimes, i'll go in and check on him after putting him to bed and he'll be lying there staring at the ceiling... so this makes me think I should be doing something with him to "build his brain", or cuddle him more or something...

Hi Sarah,

You are doing a top job  It's all normal hun.. some babies just want to sleep and sleep and sleep. You're on a winner. Some babies dont need to be cuddled and entertained. Give it a few more weeks and he might. However i change bum, then feed then put back to sleep because if you change them before a feed it won't unsettle their tum tum but if it's working for you go for it!!!

:hugs:

Savannah is 2.5 weeks old and she is exactly the same :) She gets changed half way through a feed though to wake her up for the other boob lol then she generally falls asleep finishing off the other side, I burp her and put her back to bed

They are all different but as they get older and bigger they start staying awake for longer and then the fun begins and you can start tummy time and whatnot :D

That is great. I wish my 5 week old ds would do that. I found this web site today that gives you a suggestion on what their routine should be.

I hope you find it useful
