Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong?

My DS is 17mths old & otherwise a happy, healthy toddler.

This has happened twice now. The 1st time was a few weeks ago & then again this morning.

He just suddenly goes all floppy like & lays on the ground, making funny sorts of mumbling noises. When I pick him up he's all floppy, eyes sort of rolling. I talk to him & he's not his normal self. It's like he's spaced out or something.

I put him down & he can't stand. So I hold him a little longer (feels like ages but probably only a minute or so). I put him down again & he can now walk, but it's like he's all dizzy. He can't walk straight & looks like a drunk trying to walk, who keeps falling over.

It was pretty much exactly the same last time.

Has anyone had this happen to their child or do you have any suggestions?

Thanks :)

I have no experience with any of that but I suggest you take him to your GP to get him checked out. It is definitely something that needs to be investigated further...

It sounds sort of like a seizure or a narcaoleptic fit.
I would definately take him to the doctor if I was you. It might help to write down absolutely everything that happened during the "fits" as well as anything out of the ordinary (a bump to the head, unexplained throwing up etc) that might help the doctor work out what is wrong.

Good luck and :fingerscrossed: it's nothing serious!

omg - i am sorry to hear that ... i would be off to the doctor immediately if it were me... i hope he and you are ok... any knew foods? contact with chemicals, everything, as well as pp suggestions... anything could be a trigger... if you go to the dr tell the dr anything u can think of even if you think it is nothing important!

This thing happened to my niece and she was then diagnosed with Epilepsy.. she was a little bit older but her eyes would roll back, she would go all funny then say 'mummy head hurts'...

I would definitely take him to the dr to be checked out.. good luck

Thanks guys :hugs:

I've got him booked into the dr tomorrow, hopefully he'll have some answers for me.

There's nothing that triggered this morning's one. He wasn't eating or drinking or anything. We were just in the lounge room when it happened.
