 Hey there all.. Im a 27 yr old mum and Im moving to Kenwick with my partner and our 22 month old son next week and I was hoping to meet other mums that share similar interests ( i enjoy movies, picnics, bbq's, entertaining at home, gym, swimming etc..) I especailly love taking my son to meet other kids for playtime (e.g meet up for playgroup or a bbq / picnic at a park, taking him a swimming pool etc..) so if anyone interested, drop me a line:)

Thanks

Hi Tash
Welcome to the Neighbourhood !!
There are quite a few of us locals (Maddington, Gosnells, Huntingdale, & Thornlie) on Bubhub. I'm in Maddington ;)

There is are quite a few things to do with kids around this area

Storytime - held at Kenwick, Thornlie & Gosnells Library - Free
Pram Jam - Monthly at Gosnells Library- parenting topic + morning tea -Free
Pamper mornings at the various Child health clinics
Pram walking groups - Beckenham & Thornlie
Tiny Tots Gym - Fridays $5 per class at PCYC Maddington
Baby/Toddler Swimming Lessons at the Leisure Centre

And if you are looking for a playgroup I help run a local Playgroup - Huntingdale Cherubs Playgroup which is in Thornlie (3 sessions each week - mon, tues, wed mornings).

Hi, Im Kirsten, nearly 30 (OMG) and DS and i are in Southern River. We are new to WA so still making friends, but welcome and we hope to see you at one of the playgroups.

Rhoxie- What are these pamper mornings you mention!!!! Sounds like heaven to me.

Thanks you guys for making me feel welcome..
All these activities Rhoxie has mentioned sound just like what I am after. Especailly the playgroup. Un fortunately, I do not have a drivers licence. I have been involved in 2 bad car accidents (as a passenger) and it has given me a bad fear of driving. :(

But I am hoping that these acitivities are within either walking distance or public transport available?

Pamper mornings sound great
Im really wanting to join a gym in my area (I have been with a gym for about 4 months now and I have lost most my baby wieght..16 kg.. But I am wanting to lose another 15kg..lol) :smiliedance:

If anyone interested in joining me, my e-mail is mum_2_jordan@hotmail.com
Can anyone tell me if there are any playgroups in the Kenwick area? Or even in Cannington (easier for me and Jordan to get to Cannington by bus)

Again, thanks all for your warm and friendly welcome:wave:

Tash

The Pamper mornings are run by the local Child Health Clinics - Thornlie CHC hosted the last one in June. I don't have the schedule for the next one but a call to Thornlie CHC should be able to tell you when the next one is. :)

There aren't any playgroups in Kenwick - but there definately is one in Beckenham and I'm sure Cannington would have one.
Kenwick is only a small suburb so it doesn't really have much that would be walking distance except for the Library which is great (they do story time and they have an animal farm coming next week during the holidays ).

edited to add - Maddington PCYC would be walking distance and the Pram Jams at Gosnells library is only 2 stops on the train :)

Hey all!
I am Anne-marie (30) and new here. I live in Gosnells, with my DD Charlotte 12/03/06 (18 weeks).

I would love to catch up with someone else with similar aged baby to talk about mummy stuff and go for walks with the pram.

I have a lot of baby weight to lose and have just joined the gym at Huntingdale.

PM me if you are keen to get together for tea, walk, work out or movies etc.

Correction on the Free Pamper Mornings

( I found the pamphlet whilst cleaning out the cupboard at playgroup today)
They are run by Gosnells City Council
The last one included a pram walk, morning tea, shoulder and foot massage, reiki and a parenting chat
I still have no idea when the next one is but the phone number on the pamphlet said bookings were essensial and to call 9452 9001 for more info.
