Singing is a great way to entertain/play. Even if you don't have a great singing voice (like me!!) it is amazing how you singing can captivate & comfort a tiny baby.
Also just talking to bub - and silly as this sounds - reading a book. It can be anything, so long as you change the tone of your voice and have heaps of eye contact. The changing expressionds on your face & your voice all provide stimulation.
Have Fun!!

You can read to her, have a bath with her go walking with her tell her about where your going what you'll do play with rattles show her different fabrics to feel, play peekaboo, tummy time....ohh there's loads to do!

i'm a bit too self conscious to sing - tho i try ;) i can hear EVERYTHING being said in my neighbour's house, so i expect they can hear my out-of-tune singing :o

maybe i'll just turn some music on & sing along to it for bubs - is that just as good?

Singing works great, DD2 is 2.5 weeks old and I can tell she loves it already :D

Songs that involve touching them, like heads and shoulders knees and toes and round and round the garden... this little pig.... etc all of those are great too :D

Also with the whole singing thing, my DS loves the facials and everything that goes along with it. Kids cds are great ive found cuz it doesnt matter if you dont have talent as they are all easy songs to sign :P:laughing:

i google searched for black and white pictures for babies, and found a whole heap of pictures, printed them out and stuck them up around the house. Then I show her them and talk about it , there is one of a mummy , big eyes and mouth and curly hair, moni loves this one and will stare at it for ages,, also thick stripes and a keyboard.Bold black and white pics are easiest for them to focus on and are very stimulating, if you want to pm me i can send them to you,
