View Full Version : How often do you strip wash?
I did all of mine around 3wks ago and we are back to serious leaking. I really don't think Felix has suddenly taken to weeing a lot more. The leak is normally around the leg band with some at the front tiop also
2.5 hrs magicall - leak
45 mins bambooty easy dry - leak
1 hr bambooty AIO - leak (although this could have been penis pointing up issue)
3 hrs issy - leak
so is across brands, or do you think this is normal??
How much powder do you normally use? Perhaps after this strip you could try less powder? I barely use any powder and have never needed to do a strip wash. But I have just recently needed to do a few hot washes with caneston as they were getting smelly

-are the nappys heavy when u take them off after this amount of time ? (ie are they full)
if they are not, it could be more of a case of wicking than leaking ...need to check that there are no parts of the boosters poking out of the nappy !
3 hrs is a pretty decent amout of time out of one nappy !...i dont really expect much more out of a day time nappy !
ur bubba may just be a heavy wetter and may not suit the bambooty nappies (my boy gets wicking around the legs with these nappies no matter wat i do ! )
and lastly a strip was is only to be done when a nappy is actually repeling liquid because it is actually quiet hard on the nappy going thru strip washing (so i have heard)....so its not recomended to do it more than is actually needed!
hope that made sense lol...
Ok well firstly I strip wash when they are smelly so around once a month.
Seondly I dont' have my boys in nappies for more than 3hrs, so I'm not sure if they would leek if they were on longer than that.
Whats the elastic like? Are you over stuffing them and then getting gaping around the legs and waist top?
Do you use bum creams? If so that could be causing them to repel water. And I dont' think strip washing will even fix that?
Maybe contact the manufacturer and have them advice as to fixing the issue?

You know I have never done a strip wash... but I do the occasional hot canesten wash like Me (gosh I feel weird writing that )
3hrs is the most I would leave on for but issys normally make it no problem without a leak. I use about 30mls of an Eco friendly liquid (the earth choice one) 60 is recommended for normal wash. Will see if it continues over the next few days. I love bambootys but am starting to think
they may nit work for us. In the easy dry the inserts felt wet after 45 mins and there was major leakage

maybe reduce your laundry liquid? I dont use any at all ;-)
Is your nappy full? this should tell you if its about the nappy being not absorbent enough or whether you have to do a strip wash.
you could also check if the nappy is repelling liquid from the build up. Pour some water on it and see if it soaks in or runs away?
