Just wondering if any one has used this previously?
I decided that instead of spending $160 on my & Dh return i tried it myself last nite
My question is how accurate is the amount that you actually recieve back to the amount they tell you progressivly as u fill it out IYKWIM

Prvided your stuff is pretty straight forward ETAX is very very easy. It has explanations on things if you get stuck.
It is actually quite accurate with the refund or debt amount. I have been doing mine this way for 4-5yrs and every year I get back exactly the amount it specifies except last year but there was a very good explanation for that (can't remember now the explanation but there was a reason and it all added up)
yes i have used it for as long as i can think and yes my has always been right..

i've used it for a few years for both me and DP and always gotten back as much if not more than it has calculated! last year DP was certain he'd have to pay tax and ended up getting $800 :smiliedance:

The only prob i have had with etax is that it doesnt want to load my centrelink stuff onto it. It keeps saying there is a problem so i dont know what to do about that. Other than that its pretty easy.

i did mine this morning as i had only earnt a little and as i was supposed to get all $150 of my tax paid back, i couldn't justify paying $90 of that just to lodge it. as long as you read the questions carefully and think before you lodge it, it is great. i have found it to be quite accurate in the past too.
clare - you don't need to get them to load your centrelink on it for you - you can do it yourself. just enter in the details as you would your salary or wages - but in the government payments section.

I just realised what i was doing wrong. The person that set the virus scan on our computer has set things so we have to "approve" certain things and the centrelink downloadable info was one of them...........and me being silly and not paying attention "denied" access to it so it wouldnt work. Once hubby and i realised what had happened we went on and fixed it and now i can download centrelink stuff and its dead easy. Cant wait till hubby has all his tax stuff so we can do his too and send it off for a refund.
I have decided i LOVE ETAX!!!!!!!
(p.s never ever let someone do things to your computer unless u know exactly what they are doing or it causes problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

 I love etax as well!! I have been doing it for a few years and have never had a problem (touch wood). I spend a few hrs doing dh's as to recieve the highest amount. I do my baby bonus through here as well. I did ours 3 days ago and cannot wait to get the payment.. Last year I used eft for it to be paid and was paid in about 10dys!! :smiliedance: I plan on doing a bit of shopping and letting hubby buy some new clothes he never buys anything unless he really needs it!!:yelclap:
Mine always comes back to the cent what the estimate tells me.
i did mine and hubby's earlier tonight and i accidently submitted mine with the wrong private heath care membership number on it. i entered a pretend number coz i was too lazy to find the paperwork at the time and had full intentions of getting it before i lodged it. And yep as the confirmation screen came up i realised what i had done. So i bet ill be getting a phone call..... hahah and probably audited... but thats fine, i didnt lie about anything, and i DO have private health cover. So all should be fine. :fingerscrossed:

I was going to use it last year, but chickened out and filled out the paperwork instead. (and waited 6-8 weeks for the refund)
This year I worked everything out on the forms beforehand and did both of ours on the computer. DH's came back in a week and mine a little later because of the Family Assistance business.
Love it, it's great.

Coming from someone who is absolutely hopeless when it comes to numbers...numbers - they're just not my thing, make my brain hurt...:o
I have done our tax for the last 2 years with etax and not even I can stuff it up, and believe me...if numbers are involved I will usually stuff up!!
Did ours a week ago and the cheques came today...wooohooo...:smiliedance:
I did mine last tuesday so i hope im getting mine soon too then!

My return was deposited yesterday yay look out shops.....
I was so proud of myself as i am usually hopeless with things like that but it was easy
Yeah mine did too! Think i'll be using etax from now on. So much faster!
Yep, i have used this for a few years. Its pretty easy and it means I dont hvae to make a time to go see an accountant, and its FREE. We have pretty basic tax returns as we dont have investments or shares or anything like that. We got our refund back within a week of submitting it.
