I will restart a thread in the vain hope that it doesn't get hijacked by anti-circ activists.

The below site contains a great deal of information on the benefits and risks of circumcision.

A quote on the home page:
Quote:

The purpose of this website is to provide a balanced up-to-date review of scientific studies on circumcision that have been published mainly in reputable international medical and scientific journals after a formal, critical refereeing process by experts in the field.
The information reviewed herein is the most extensive and accurate in the world. Listed are 660 references. Most can be found by the reader in any medical library or internet referencing service, such as PubMed. The message they convey is quite clear. Unfortunately, the topic of circumcision has been made unnecessarily controversial because of emotive propaganda and opinions placed on the internet by extremist anti-circumcision organizations.

It is the intention of the present overview to provide sound information that should be of assistance to parents, medical professionals as well as men and their partners who are seeking facts (rather than the fiction perpetrated by anti-circumcision groups). The author is a full professor in the medical faculty of a major very prestigious highly reputable university, has over 38 years of scientific research experience and more than 250 research publications.

Here is another. There is a large amount of reading in this one for those who want to make their own informed decision. It has many links to many different articles and studies.

Parents may find it useful as a research tool to assist them in their decision making.

Here is some further info on Father's link.

Actually, I will post it in a more appropriate area. I have started a thread in the discuss it section that has a link to an article discussing the above linked website.

Thanks Father I have been told circumcision is a really good thing done a long time ago and have had no reason to doubt it. Circumcised men can rejoyce that what is best for them has been done.

I do agree that there is little point in a circumcised man becoming neurotic about what has been removed. He had no say in it, it can't be put back (despite what the foreskin restoration people hope), and best just to get on with whatever endowment he's been left with.

As long as a parent explains that they genuinely believed they were doing the right thing, should the boy ask later in life, there should be no permanent resentment.

why are you opposed to people being exposed to the fact that this website is full of contradictory and dangerous advice?

contradictory, dangerous, and frankly...strange

or is it just me?

"When engaged in the homosexual activity it was always to explore aspects of circumcision with myself asking questions about this with those men
(who were circumcised)."

"With a tightly circumcised penis the sensation that comes from the friction of clothes on the glans and corona is very pleasant and sensual, let's face it."

"Due to the confining nature of the foreskin, the glans does not develop proportionally with the rest of the penis. It is like a small acorn on the end of a thick
stick. When circumcised, and the restricting nature of the foreskin removed, the glans will start to grow proportionally with rest of the penis."

""This is my mum's account. I have been given permission to use it. I am 31 now and live in the UK, and there is not much information about. Finding your page on the
internet was refreshing as yours is the only pro page I seem to be able to find. I was circumcised when I was 19 after I had tried to do it myself."
