I recently took my 2 year old out walking in our STEELCRAFT pram. Whilst attempting to navigate 2 steps the handle simply snapped off in my hand! I am eternally grateful that I managed to catch the back of the pram before it and my gorgeous daughter were flung onto the path. When I contacted Britax to alert them to this danger I was advised "as I had been going down stairs I was on a declined angle with my child in the pram and they believe the added pressure placed on the handle is what has caused it to break”. They went on to state they did not consider this to be a manufacturing fault!!! Please, please be aware of this danger and warn anyone you know who owns or plans to purchase a Steelcraft Pram.:(

I have a Steelcraft pram and have it for quite a while. I also know plenty of people with the same prams. Just because your pram was faulty doesnt mean they are all. Thats like saying your Holden had a fault so no one should buy a Holden. Maybe if you post the model it might be more helpful.

Mmmm, I too have a steelcraft stroller (the take 2) and while I had a slight sticking problem with the brake (as in it became increasingly difficult to 'un-brake') but it was fixed without a problem and I haven't had any since... sounds like a one off, I certainly wouldn't be put off of getting another :D (And come to think of it, once DS is walking more and more will be, I want the Profile, to go with our unity capsule!)

I was surprised with the flimsyness of some of the new prams ,prams only a couple of mths old already broken and out for verge side collections. I think Kathas concerns are quite valid considering how many of us negotiate stairs with our prams everyday. I know my bertini pram I wouldn't trust to hold down stairs as the handle moves and only has a little plastic bracket holding it.
