I have had my ittis for nearly a year now and they are leaving my Ds2 with a red bum every time he wears them. Do i need to do a strip wash with them? If i do how do i do it in a front loader?
TIA
I wouldn't bother with a strip wash to start off. Give a canestan wash a go, with at least 1 if not 2 extra rinses and lots of sun. My best guess is that it is a fungal/bacterial thing.

wash them in a hot wash with no detergant ,add a capful of canestan to the rinse cycle.......then put make sure they get lots of sun to dry!
(strip wash is only needed when the nappies begin to repel liquid due to detergant residue)

Sorry, I don't know about a front loader but I did strip wash my itti snap-ins early in the year when they were giving my DD a red bottom, also the smell was quite strong after just one wee.
Not many suds came out when I did the strip wash, they were still absorbent before hand so I don't think it was really necessary. I agree with Jag, I found that using Canestan Rinse was what stopped the redness and got rid of the smell. Much easier than doing strip wash too, and if you find after using the canestan that it is still a problem then you could give them a strip-wash.
Goodluck.

:iagree:
It will sort of be a half strip wash :)
You'll be able to see if you need to keep washing until bubbles disappear :) I love front loaders because you can see what is happening bubbles wise.
