Sleep late, stay up late, watch normal television, have a party, eat junk food without hiding, have a shower for as long as I wanted with out being needed, get to sit down for longer than five minutes without the Mummy being called out......

I dont know about a week but DP and i went away for a night back in April, it was funny we went and did some shopping, caught a movie and because we were so use to having the kids we were back in the hotel by 9 pm with nothing to do except watch the TV and due to nothing of interest being on we went to bed. The next day instead of going to the shops , having lunch etc before going home we were home by 10 am because we missed the kids sooo much. I dont know if i could do a week lol.

Clean my house so it can be clean for 5 mins! Sleep in, have a few drinks knowing I didn't have to wake up to a demanding (in the nicest possible way!) baby - or that I'll be woken during the night.

DD is away for a few days now - it's pure bliss (no offence!) as I don't have "mummy can I have .... mummy I'm .... mummy .......".

Oh I forgot something vital. Being able to go to the toilet without being asked what I am doing or DD following me in there and watching - that's kind of creepy.

ok, don't know if i could do a week without DS and not spend every day worrying about him, but a couple of days might be nice

i'd sleep in as much as i wanted. go the movies a couple of times. go and buy some new clothes and actually try them on so i can hve something to wear that fits properly besides trackies. pay someone to clean my house till it sparkled while i was out. shave my legs. have a couple of drinks with some friends (i haven't had a drink since DS was conceived). go to a couple of the cultural events around the city. read a whole book. eat a meal in peace. turn off the baby monitor for the first time in eight months.

Now you got me dreaming Jason!

I would love to spend some time with hubby and I am sure I would go shopping - undoubtedly for the kids!

I'm so disappointed in this thread!
I read it and thought it was an offer!!! :banghead:

And Ditto on what mumtok&z said.
I'd be wondering how the kids were.

Oh I totally agree there!!

I would go away, go shopping pram free, go to the movies!! Just jump in the car with only my handbag!! Those were the days!!

And all our conversations would involve the kids I am sure!! :D

Okay I totally agree with absolutely everything that Chellegoth said, talk about hitting the nail on the head lol.

DP and I would make the most of it for probably the first few days...movies, dinner, shows and then the novelty will wear off and I will fret for my children to come home.

My DD1 went back to NZ to stay with my mum while we awaited the arrival of DD2. My mother was here for the Melb Cup so DD1 went with her then and DD2 wasnt due till 14/12 but didnt come till 21/12. It was aweful! A whole lifetime not to mention Xmas day without my princess...... She also fell from the playground at school (in NZ you can start as soon as you turn 5 so she went to school for term 4) and broke her arm...my mum rang me on her way to the hospital. I was bawling my eyes out, wanted to jump on the plane right then and there but 1 week out from giving birth I was stranded and helpless!
On the other hand DD was a soldier, thought the cast was a novelty and it was soo exciting at her nanas (by the lake) and koros (by the ocean) that she didnt miss us one bit...gotta love kids lol.

Everything chellegoth said!

+ Paint the kids rooms, clean boys room so it stays clean for a whole week:D Give the salvo's all the toys they never play with, but of course they want when I try to get rid of them!
Drink, sleep, watch movies all day, read a book without interruption, long baths and showers.Ooh if I need something, just go to the shop without worrying about nappy bag and that the kids are dressed appropriately first!

Ooh sleep naked;) LOL I'll probably be adding more soon when I think of them!!

I'd have to keep myself very busy, but I'm sure within the first 24hours I would want to see them.
A couple of nice long sleep-ins wouldn't go astray though!!:D
