Hi ladies,

I've run out of idea's for lunch for my almost 12 month old DD. She rarely spoon feeds, unless it's fruit or yoghurt or custard (of course the yummy stuff!). Coming into summer now I need some new idea's, whether it be finger foods or spoon feeding recipes.

I usually give her mashed vegies, vegie muffins, fruit peices, yoghurt, sandwiches with avacado or vegemite or sometimes jam, peices of pasta, green beans etc. I've tried to give her spaghetti bolognaise (using spiral pasta) and mac and cheese but barely anything gets in her mouth.. It ends up on the floor! She's only 8.8-9kgs so it's pretty important that she actually does get food into her tummy. She's been battling with weight gain over the last couple of months (was sick with diaherria and lost weight so has struggled to gain weight since, although she is getting bigger, slowly).

Now coming into summer all I can think of is yoghurt, fruit or sandwiches!

Any ideas would be appreciated! :)

What about pieces of cucumber, carrot sticks, little cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg etc etc

She has bits of salad occassionally. I didn't think of the hard boiled egg! Good thinking, thanks :)

I'd go with as much finger food as possible so she can learn to do it herself. Try the PP suggestions with a little bowl of dip.
Grilled cheese on toast cut into soldiers, scrambled eggs, what about a frittata, quiche or plain/savory pikelets as they can all be eaten hot or cold? Fried rice? Risotto? Rice custard?
Also, give your DD a spoon/fork for each hand, it may distract her enough for you to get a few spoon fulls in her mouth yourself!

Hmmmm I'll keep thinking!! :D
