Where can you buy good reasonable priced shoes? I refuse to put cheap shoes on dd1 (target etc), but at $90 a pair, Clarkes are a bit much especially at 4 pairs a year! I get them on special in DJ's when I can but she needs sandals now...
If someone can suggest a brand or a chainstore we can check out, or we are in melbourne east if anyone knows anywhere specific.

Payless?
The Crayons brand from Williams or Mathers are a bit cheaper ($40-$50) than Clarks but pretty good quality.
We can't really get cheap shoes for DD because she has awkwardly shaped feet and needs the support from shoes like Clarks, so I don't really know what places sell good quality cheap shoes. Sorry.
I think the crayons brand in Williams are good they usually sell for between $30-40, airflex from betts and betts they are about $50, and grosby from payless are about $40 I have found all these brands to be good solid shoes hth :)

I usually wait until Myer or David Jones have a 25% off shoe sales for kids and buy my clarks then. I am finding they usually have this discount roughly every 2 months.

I buy New Balance for DD at $87 a pair, but that's due to all her sports, her school shoes are from Shoe Barn. She wears them 4 days a week.
Also the Crayon brand are pretty good, I bought DD's good white shoes for $45 for my brother's wedding, they are Crayon brand and lasted her a year before being passed on and are onto the third child, looking as good as new now :)

That's our issue too, very high bridge and short foot. Thats why we've always gone with Clarkes.
Have tried all of the places suggested so looks like we are out of options. Might just stick with Clarkes and look out for them on sale as suggested! Thanks everyone for your replies :>

Do you go in to the city at all. Because there is a DFO now next door to southern cross station.
Could you get someone to look after your kiddlets for a day.
Hope you get a cheap pair soon.. ill keep an eye out and see what shoe shops that are near your area that have sales on..
Go to the Converse outlet on Smith Street and pick up some cool chuck taylors for 30 bucks :D
