:(Not happy Jan at all!
Went in for my induce and doctors turned me down saying my cervix wasnt ripened yet and because im only 35+4 weeks he didnt want to take the risk :hair:OMG why the hell didnt they check my cervix the wednesday that i seen him.Im so mad coz at 35+4 these babies should be fine,my hubby took the day of work and lost $400 but now we cant afford a day off again im so P#ssed off.
Any ideas how to get a cervix ripened over the weekend?

I dont know if you feel up to it (I certainly didn't:laughing: with my twin preg) but sex and lots of it. Semen contains prostiglandins which is the same drug they use in the gel to get you going when they induce you.

:hugs: I know it would be frustrating, but keeping them in for longer is best (so long as there isn't anything like Pre-eclampsia TTTS etc). 35 week bubs WILL be fine, but the will be better the longer they are in.

I didn't see this post until now...my twinnies were born at 35 +1, and I had steroids at 32weeks when labour started and I was on bed rest in hospy to keep them in as long as possible. They were 4lb 14 and 5lb 2 when born, in humidicribs for 12hours and home a week later. My first 2 kids were 36 +4 and 36+1 and they all faired differently. At 36+1 DS was in the humidicrib for almost 3 days. He was born blue with breathing dificulties, needed oxygen in the crib and at age 2, he is prone to bronchitis and croup, although there is no guarentee that is due to him being pre-term. Other than that - he is a BIG boy for his age, and no other issues. The twins are both perfect, and had no breathing issues, with better apgars than DS1...so it depends entirely on the babies, not always their gestation on how well they do.

I know it is frustrating, but fingers crossed the longer bubs stay put, the better they will be and home with you sooner!

Hi dearmum

I had my I/D girls at 35+2. I ended up having an emergency c/s under general. The girls spent 3 weeks in SCN but only because of their size, otherwise they were very healthy. My girls were born 1.5 and 1.8 kilos- 3lbs7 and 4lbs2.
They are still small for their age (6 months and still wearing alot of 0000 clothing) but they have reached their milestones early and are powering on.
I think once they are born if they are gaining weight and feeding well that they should be able to come home pretty soon.

Im now 36 weeks and still pregnant:hair::laughing:
I bought some Evening primrose oil yesterday because that suppose to help soften the cervix and i even tried castor oil:othinking i could have them this weekend but doesnt seem to be working.I will keep up with the primrose oil and today im going to have a nice long walk and see if that helps.Gawd if the docs just done there job i would of had them here by now.

Can I ask why you want them out early? I would try to hang in there as long as you can...I know the hospital I went to put the babies in SCU if they were born under 38weeks...

My boys were born at 35 +3 weeks and had to spend 3 weeks in Special Care Unit...they were not developed enough to feed on their own yet, and I did get steriod shots...they came early because I had pre eclampsia and had to have a emergancy c section, but if I could have held on till 38 weeks I would have...

It was horrible having to leave them every night while they were in care, just heartbreaking...I know it was the best place for them.

Don't be in a hurry to give birth unless you have too.

I wish you all the best:hugs:

Hi Helenhastwins:wave:

Yeh i know i should wait but im at the point of being so uncomfortable its not funny.I would rather see them have there last minute growth on the outside so im not stressing anymore.
I need to see the doc on Wednesday to check my cervix again if all ok i will request a induce on Sunday that will make me 37 weeks.
After losing my baby boy last year at 20 weeks i keep having this feeling something is going to go wrong the last minute:no:
My babies are a good weight now being 6 pounds & 5.3 pounds and i have diabettes the longer there in they will get to big.

They are a great weight and now that you are 37 weeks I am sure everything will be fine...

I am very sorry about your loss,:hugs: that would have been horrible, I am so happy for you to be having twins this time round, sounds like you deserve it.

It is a absolute blessing having twins, you are going to love it, it is alot of hard work but so worth it...

I hope everything goes well with the birth and that you will soon be holding your beautiful bubbas :D
