I plan to use small itti bittis for my new bub when he arrives (we used BBHs for DD but I sold all of those!!).
For DD we use itti bitti during the day and BBH Magicalls with a trifold bamboo booster at night.
But for a newborn - is it worth getting night nappies? Surely they don't wee in large enough amounts to soak through one, and you change them pretty regularly at night to start with anyway.
Should I just stick with the ittis at first and see how we go? I don't really know anything about the wee habits of boys (lol) so I could need more boosting, not less...
I wouln't think so but it depends on your bub. My girl was about 8weeks old before she started sleeping long stretches (like 6hrs).
You might find that you can use a bigger size nappy rather than a specific night nappy to do the job. Or some fitteds and covers that you can boost as needed?
How do you think the ittis will go will newborn runny poo? I have meds and larges but saw some smls the other day and got a bit tempted - they are very cute! I'm trying to be good and wait till bub arrives before buying any more AIOs so I know his shape and size.

Haha Zalia - I'm not sure! I haven't bought them yet. I have larges (that DD wears now) and some mediums on order for our little man, but I'm waiting until we've met him and checked him out before I buy any smalls. As for the poos - well, I guess I don't know because my DD never had any real shockers when she was a bub, but that doesn't mean this one won't! I might buy a couple of smalls just to trial and see how he goes.
And DD was sleeping six-hour stretches from birth so maybe I should re-think my boosting situation if this bub is the same!
6 hr sleeps from birth? I want one of those!!!!!

Yeah, it was pretty awesome! :D
I'm hoping for another one of those, too! I'm not sure if I'll be so lucky the second time....
My experience with cloth and my DS when he was a newborn was very touch and go. I can honestly say that I tried a few different types and the cloth thing failed...
I had newborn bamboo prefolds which fitted well but my BBH covers were way too big. By the time the covers fitted the prefolds didn't :(
Newborn magicalls were horrible and newborn eenie weenies didn't work all that well either. I wish I had of known about ittis earlier. :)
I have recently bought 2 BBH bamboo fitteds and when I have my next bub (somewhere down the track) I think I will get some more BBH bamboo fitteds and some smaller covers with gussets.
HTH a little. :)
I used Bumgenius overnight from birth. I just used the bigger insert folded at one end - makes the nappy a bit bulky when it's snapped into newborn position, but night nappies are bulky anyway. They worked fine.

We started using a night nappy on DD2 from about 10 weeks...she is a decent wetter & she was sleeping stretches of up to 11 hours. Until then we did fine with Cute Tooshies Bamboo Delights (love them!), and you can easily customise the absorbency with them. And Bam bams. With woolies, of course. For the first few weeks she was pooing with every nappy change, so absorbency was not so much a problem. HTH.
