i had my ds2 in feb this year, and im still waiting for my AF to show up. dont get me wrong i love not having it but i kind of do want it back so i can start ttc bub3 soon!
i went on the minipill for about 2 months after having ds2, and had weird spotting for those 2 months, but i was always forgetting to take the silly tablet (has to be done at same time each day) so i just stopped taking them.
am still breastfeeding 3-4 day feeds and 1-2 night feeds, but bub is eating regular solid meals as well.
just wondering how long it took for everyones AF to return?
thanks :)

Hey Mel !
DD1 - three months  fully BF until four months (started solids).
DD2 - five months :( fully BF until six months (started solids).
DS - four months :hissy: currently fully BF.
I have horrid AFs with pain, pain and more PAIN and have to say not having it during pregnancy was wonderful! So was particularly peeved that it came back so relatively soon after.
We'll be TTC again soon so I guess it'll come in handy , but still... grrrrrrr.....
Hope yours arrives for you soon hun.
Sam :flowerz:
My son is 13 months and no sign yet.
His feeding freqency is similiar to your son.
Except I'm :smiliedance::cloud9::yelclap:. Another reason for me to do extended breastfeeding.:D

my bubs isnt to much into alot of solids but still relies on my milk , almsot 12 months old no af :D , last time it was like 6-12 weks after i fully stoped
I'm curious to know too - we want to start TTC again when DS is about six months old but maybe we won't be able to  I honestly never really thought about how long it would take AF to come back...
First time 15 months and second time 17 months.
Exclusively b/f for 6 months, but still heavily b/f until about 13-14months. It was around the time that I night weaned that it came back (but still fed throughout the day).
:rain:6 or 8 weeks!!:rain: i hate it, when ever i get it cas bites me! ouch:banghead:
Fully breastfeeding and mine came back when DD was 6-8 weeks . I had intermittent bleeding after Locia, so it feels like I have never 'stopped' bleeding on one form or another after she was born. :(
I was so looking forward to having a lovely break whilst I was breastfeeding, but alas, Mother Nature had other ideas!
I've always had regular, long in duration and heavy AF, so don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I got mine back when DS was about 9 months as soon as he started eating some solids. he was fully breastfed up until then.
AF has been fairly regular ever since I have extremely long cycles though between 45-50 days and I now ovulate twice in each cycle.

I have had almost exactly the same experience (except for the TTC bit).
My DS was born in January and AF came just last week... so over 9 months.
Most friends with similar aged bubs had theirs sooner.
I've heard you can get pg without AF returning.
:fingerscrossed: Good luck.

You cant go back yet either......gota give me a chance yet!! Only joking...good luck...maybe have a crack at it without waiting for AF to come back if your keen for another soon...have heard plenty of stories of it happening!!

AF came back after 5 months and I was still fully BF DS. I only had a light one then and didn't get another one for 2 months afterwards. I stopped BF DS at 8 months and it is starting to come back regularly only now, 11 months later!
In regards to your TTC.. it is possible to ovulate without having AF. I'd give it a go anyway. A few of my friends fell pregnant without a single AF and only a few months after their first child was born.
Hi
DH and I were keen to start TTC not long after our DD was born, but I had to wait until my AF came back. I did a lot of research, and read that when you have a 4hr gap between day feeds and a 12hr gap overnight, then AF is more likely to return. When my DD was 6 months old and started sleeping 12hrs overnight, I made sure her day feeds were no closer than 4hrs apart and my AF came back a month later. The first few months they were quite irregular, and we started using OPKs to track my cycle. It wasn't until my cycle was back to a regular 28days and I ovulated on day 14 that we conceived. My DD was 11 months old by then. I continued to BF throughout my first trimester until she was 14.5 months old.
There is some good info about BF and fertility on Kellymom website.

Ive been breastfeeding DS for nearly 4 months now and still no sign of AF although I did bleed for 8 weeks after his birth so maybe my utrerus is having break

With DS1 it wasn't until he was fully weaned at 13 months. I actually weaned him because I wanted to TTC again.
