I'm 38 and started trying to conceive about 1 1/2 years ago. Since middle of this year we found out that my husband has poor sperm morphology and motility (but fantastic quality, go figure!!). So I'm currently going through IVF at Melbourne IVF Clinic, just completed 4th cycle 2 weeks ago and have spotting today. Have been through a Down Reg cycle, Thaw, Antagonist and now a Flare but my period comes on regular as clockwork 2 days before my blood test.:crying: I've been getting 8 - 9 eggs, but only 2 - 3 embryo's that were good enough to transfer each time. This last cycle I had 23 follicles of which 13 eggs were retrieved, of which only 7 were mature enough to fertilise. Of those 7, 6 fertilised but 4 had developed too many nucleas..............so we're left with 2 again!! We've been putting 2 back in each time. My FS is worried about why my eggs are not maturing enough to fertilise so is starting to make noises that we need to think about egg donation but I think it's too early to think about that option. I would like a 2nd opinion but don't know which specialist to turn to. Please help! Also has anyone done a natural cycle, and what does that comprise of??

Hi,

I donated in 2006 and I used Penny Foster and MIVF together with John McBain. Both were excellent, and my donor raved about her experience with McBain & Foster. Penny Foster is a little cold, clinical and not a touchy feely person, but in general I didnt have a problem with her.

I dont know what clinic you are with or if you are with MIVF but hope you get some positive news for you soon.

Hang in there!

I am with Dr John McBain. He is brilliant! He explains things well, he is very direct to the point, but i think that can be good in a doctor.
Good luck!

Thanks a million all for the encouragement. I am currently seeing Dr Lyndon Hale, and I do like him. I think I just got freaked out at the mention of donor eggs!! I so want to try with my own for as long as I can. I'm of a creole background and have visions of having real difficulty finding a donor with skin as brown as mine..........I'd love my child to look a little like it could have been my egg!! Dr McBain sounds good so I'll keep him in mind for a 2nd opinion. I'm trying to keep positive and hope it happens soon for us.
Thanks again for the feedback...........

I also saw John McBain and can't recommend him enough. He can be cold and direct, but I like that in an FS as you know where you stand and he doesn't give you any false opinions.

He got me my BFP after about 15 embryos had been transferred and failed.

Good luck.

I saw Greg Fox at MIVF. He is fantastic.. such a beautiful man who got us our BFP on our first cycle. Google him, his website is informative. He focus' on male infertility which is why we went with him as DH had the issues not really me lol.
good luck xxx
