(Not sure if in right section feel free to move)

On the 2nd November My son will be starting a new school as we are moving interstate.

He will finish the school he is at now on the Friday then starting the new one on the Monday.

Do any of you have any tips on helping him adjust to this change.?

Get onto the new schools website and let your son look at it to have some familiarisation

Ask the new school for his new class and teacher to send him an email and maybe some photos of his new class mates

Ask his new teacher to send any homework and a reader now that needs to be handed in the week he starts

Get the new library to mail him a couple of library books to be returned the week he starts.

Find out if they have any special days coming up or projects that he can get involved in now.

Good Luck

It's such a shame you're not moving to this side of town, our school is fabulous with new student (well all students actually!).

WCM has given you some fantastic tips, I really don't think I could any more to it. Will you be starting work straight away, just in case he gets stressed and wants to come home - though to be honest I've learnt the hard way that letting them come home isn't always the best thing.

I'm so excited for your move!
