Which baby carrier do you recommend??
I have a hand-me-down 'snugli' which I tried using with ds when he was about 4 months and found it most uncomfortable.
I want to actually have two spare hands and not feel as though I still need one hand supporting the baby iykwim? Teh main point of it will be so I can be close to new bubba, but still get stuff done around the house and with ds.
What is good for a heavier baby?
Can you sit down while wearing them?
This is going to sound silly, but I have ridiculously large boobs adn I'm wondering if this will make a difference to which style is best??
Thansk for any insight and/or recommendations!
As far as a structured carrier goes, definitely the Ergo!!!! Very comfortable, you can wear baby on your front, your back, and on your hip (so you could do a back carry and boobs would not be a problem) very easy to use, very comfortable!
It takes a lot of weight too...something like 16-17kg.

I've heard great things about the ergo too! My bub is still only little and our personal favourite is the Hugabub! www.hugabub.com
she lives in it!

Check this link out, it will help explain what to look for and what to avoid in a carrier/sling. I do second the Ergo and Hug a Bub though..

My babasling is my favourite, have carried newborn - 2.5 yr old in it, DS is 3.5 now and would still probably carry him on my hip sometimes in it if it wasnt being used for DD2 :)
Its brilliantttttttt! Great to breastfeed a newborn, great for older babies like my DD1 who is 12 months and even for older toddlers as I said :D
MANY different positions, very easy to get on and off, takes about 30 seconds to get bubs in and out each time :D
can find a link if you're interested
suitable from 0 - 4 years old .. just depends how long you want to be carrying them for. Itwas the only one I could find that I felt comfortable putting my premmies in as everything else said around 3.5kg plus

I also put in a vote for the ergo - look at www.ergobabycarrier.com for info and www.carryingaway.com.au for a local supplier. (I have largish breasts too and have no dramas with the ergo - and still carry my 21 month old in it occasionally with no dramas.)

I loved my Baby Bjorn! They aren't cheap but it was fantastic. I've lent it to a girlfriend who had bought one of the cheap carriers when she was pregnant but found out it was useless and hurt her back. I'm big busted as well but I found that it sits low enough to not interfere with the girls! DH loved it as well, at some times there was a fight for the baby/baby carrier.
