The issue with powder is the talc in them. I use J&J cornstarch or the Curash one, neither have any talc in them.

I use powder after every bath but not every nappy change. The great thing I've found about powder is that it helps absorb excess moisture off the skin, just in case you haven't managed to get the skin folds really dry.
If you're worried about the inhalation risk, just put the powder on your hands away from bub, rather than putting it straight onto their skin.

Yep i use the one JJ with cornstarch.... i use it on DS on the groin between the scrotum and the legs as he sweats and this keeps him dry (n smelling fresh).

Tasma, it isn't just the inhalation risk.
there have been some studies that indicate that it can travel inside the vagina, cause irritations in the tubes etc that lead to other medical issues.

we only used powder for a few weeks until it was recommended to use corn flour esp when it came to nappy rash. i would just buy the corn flour in the yellow box and coop wouldnt get nappy rash at all when we used that.

I use talc containers that came in baby baskets. I emptied out all the talc and refilled them with pure corn flour.
I did used to like the curash powder that has zinc in it, but I rang the company and it turns out it has talc in it. Only corn flour is used in my house now.
I heard the health issues linked to talc was cancers of the the female reproductive organs. I am not 100% sure though, but I am happier just using an edible product anyway.
I try and steer clear of it but sometimes if DS is getting a little red I put some on my hand well away from bub and apply. When applying I make sure it doesn't get on his penis or close to his anus as it is linked to cancer and infected anal glands. Make sure you use the cornstarch ones. HTH
I swear by bepanthen at every disposable change.

no way, Im not getting it anywhere near my bub. I'm not prepared to risk it, there are other products I can use so I can avoid it.
