i went to the doctor about getting pg with #2. i mentioned that i was checking my temps and monitoring my o with the saliva maybe baby thing and i was not o.

he went on about my diet which is quite healthy and organic. he said that if that didnt work i would need to go straight for the hormone injections.

is this strange.. should he be investigating before trying that?

I went to the Drs back in May to find out if I could get pregnant as I felt I hadnt O'd and the first thing my Dr did was sent me for a u/s to check my uterus and ovaries,


It come back that I had PCO so I didnt need any other testing,

I got a letter for a specialist that was then going to decide how to treat me but I never went because I found out I was preg 2 weeks later.

I would have assumed that they would find the problem first then decide how to treat it?

How long have you been trying? Most doctors will not do much at all until you have been trying for 12 months (or 6 months if you are over 35).

Normally they will first send you for a blood test at cd 21 to determine if you o.

If you do (and sometimes if you dont, they will normally do an ultrasound to check for cysts/other issues.

After that, it depends on your individual issues/what they find as to what they do. If you dont o, the usual first step is clomid (a drug to help you o and regulate your cycle).

If your doctor is suggesting FSH injections before any kind of tests or understanding of what is wrong, then I would find a new FS.
